Leech stat for Mana

I love leech, it’s a nice bonus (as is speed) on gear, please add another type in this category that leeches mana. Doesn’t have to change the dynamics of the game, just a nice way to help my mage keep the pool refilling. And thank you in advance.

I miss Spirit…

First, a primary stat.

Then, in WoD, a secondary stat,

Its death, in Legion.

Back again as a tertiary stat?

I loved playing a Holy Priest in BC, stacking tons of spirit and balancing the 5 second window for mana regen. I guess your suggestion is considerably different, granted.

Who needs mana these days, other than healers? Would healers DPS to get mana back? Might be a decent incentive.

I think over the years as the player base got better (all 3 roles) and tanks became more self sufficient (active over passive mitig, self heals) we learnt it was better to have greater throughput and cast less than to have higher regen and less output. The design then kinda followed through I guess.

Apart from healers it’s just hybrid dps casting off heals and arcane mages. Though with the latter, the whole design is around blowing through your mana then regenerating it with evocation. I don’t know how much effect 1-5% mana drain would have on it tbh.

Edit: I know several healers already have some form of mana regen/discount. Shamans get some back on crits and I think have a totem?; monks can get some back on a dps ability; paladin and druid get some clear casting effects (though paladins don’t really cast the heals that use the procs, sadly); druid also still has innervate to reduce costs; I think priest has hymn?
