Least Favorite Dungeon from Each Expac! =D

Because I’m waiting for the queue to pop, it’s slow, and if I end up in Freehold one more time, I might tear my hair out. So, I pose a discussion to everyone!

List your least favorite dungeon from any expanion(s) and why (if you feel so inclined). Would love to see people’s opinions. Don’t have to list every expac if you don’t want, just your standout least favs.

BC: Slave Pens/Steamvault/Underbog (They’re just not a pleasant play experience for me. Naga are neat, I guess, but we’ve been having them shoved down our throat for multiple expansions now, not even killing Azshara felt satisfying)

Mists: Siege of Niuzao and Gate of Setting Sun. They were both tedious and I did not enjoy any of the Klaxxi storylines.

Legion: Court of Stars. Any time spent in Suramar is a bad time.

Battle for Azeroth: Freehold. It’s a cool aesthetic but everything in there is the same color and to this day I swear there I mobs I don’t see and then they come out of nowhere. But also Operation Mechagon is a hot hot hot mess of a dungeon too. So I’d say a tie.

The Oculus.

BC - Black Morass, Durnholde
Wrath - Violet Hold, Culling of Stratholme
MoP - Siege of Niuzao
Legion - Violet Hold again

So there’s a running theme with mine. I don’t like wave style dungeons (waiting on spawn timers) or ones with long bits of unskippable RP and escorting. :fearful:

Aww I love Durnholde and Stratholme BECAUSE of the RP! haha. Escorting isn’t fun, but I enjoy the dungeons that have a little plot in them. Makes them a little more engaging.

I also kinda love Violet Hold so…I guess the stuff you dislike, I love haha.

Psh and here I thought we could be friends. What a shame.

Fully agreement with the wave style dungeons, they are awful.

VH and black morass are so bad.

BC: Black Morass and Auchnai Crypts (When I’m healing. Stuff the Dead Watcher)

Wrath: Literally any dungeon here. I hate Wrath levelling.

Cata: Same as Wrath.

Mists: Gate of the Setting Sun. 4/10 too much wall

WoD: Auchindoun (read: Auchindork). Only because it was the most efficient exp farm after exhausting all the bonus objectives, I did it waaaaaaay too many times on alt runs

Legion: Vault of the Wardens and Violet Hold. Oh boy more prison breaks. This trope wasn’t beaten to death at all

BFA: Tol Dagor. See Legion reasoning

Triumvirate was worse than VH

That is the worst dungeon in the entire history of WoW. The whole dungeon is a giant gimmick.

  • Vanilla: Wailing Caverns (long boring dungeon so early in leveling with characters having 10% of their rotation), Blackfathom Deeps (another one… WHY did you put those marathonic dungeons at level 20 instead of 45-50??)

  • TBC: Mana Tombs (mobs are so annoying and the bosses are a bit of a pain for a leveling character), Opening of Dark Portal (boring as hell, at least Violet Hold is a small area)

  • WOTLK: Oculus (who on earth thought it was a good idea?), Culling of Stratholme (great dungeon lorewise, but horrible gameplay, having to go back and forth so many times)

  • Cata: Grim Batol (i have very little experience with Cata dungeons… just this one is what gave me the most headaches)

  • MoP: Siege of Niuzao Temple (by FAR the worst dungeon, since all other ones are very enjoyable. Altough i like the second boss, that mantid general makes me laugh of how much we humilliate his army)

  • WoD: Skyreach (extremely overtuned compared to the other dungeons)

  • Legion: Darkheart Thicket (i played very little in Legion dungeons, but this one feels AWFUL. It is like Underrot on steroids, so boring to play)

  • BFA: The Underrot (screw this place 1000 times, a pug nightmare, so many annoying mobs and all bosses except the first one have several very annoying mechanics), Siege of Boralus (awful bosses with either boring or very punishing mechanics, and the trash isnt much better. Dont even mention the differences between factions). Special mention to Waycrest Manor, altough it is an easy dungeon without Tyrannical, Sanguine or Quaking.

All the MoP dungeons. Every. Single. One.

Every other dungeon I, at the least, enjoyed for one reason or another. The majority I loved.

(Note: have only done dungeons up to WoD.)

PuG Everbloom. We all know we don’t need to do the “jump” but we still spend several minutes trying and failing to do it.

Classic: Uldaman
BC: opening of the Dark Portal
Wrath: Oculas
Cata: Grimm Batol
Mop: Shadowpan Monastery
Wod: Upper Blackrock spire
Legion: Eye of Azshara
BFA: Shrine of the Storm

Every single one where you have to wait for NPC dialogue to happen, or have to escort an NPC in the middle of a dungeon.

The Culling of Stratholme, Escape from Durnholde, probably some more I cant think off the top of my head. Oculus is okay, it’s just confusing at first, otherwise it’s pretty easy. but having to wait for NPCs is so painful. I end up just taking the 30 minute debuff for leaving rather than do the two I mentioned.

gnomeregan times how ever many xpacs their are

I hate vehicle combat, the first portion of the Trial jousting too. Hate it.

I got none. That’s my Story. I mean I pretty much love all Dungeons.

Good point.

BC:
Black Morass. Sucks. just an awful, boring slog of a snoozefest. the only fun part about it was laughing at all the gnomes who had to swim across the water. too bad blizz “fixed” that.

Durnhold Keep. too. much. rp. shut. UP. thrall. GAH.

Wrath:
Culling of Stratholme too. much. rp. shut. UP. arthas. GAH.
Violet Hold Sucks. just an awful, boring slog of a snoozefest.

Cata:
Throne of Tides - dumbbbbbbbbbbbb

Mists:
Stormstout Brewery - I hate the pandaren voices with their stupid fake accents.

WoD:
these were all pretty much trash. I guess the train one was at least unique.

Legion:
Violet Hold Sucks. just an awful, boring slog of a snoozefest.

BFA:
Tol Dagor. There is nothing redeeming about this stupid buggy excuse of a dungeon.
