Least Favorite BG and WHY

I doth not understand…

Temple of Kotmogu - Highly team dependent. You can’t do much if you’re the only one carrying an orb. Also, if your team can’t wipe the enemy in the middle, then that’s a good early indication of how the bg will end…

ctf maps classic wow reminded me why i dont like wsg at least retail has a timer.

wintergrasp and Seething Shore but ctf maps com in a close 3rd.

Wintergrasp. Too much ground to cover between nodes, difficult in most cases to redirect teams that do not understand the goals and consequences of their efforts. (Like IoC and Ashran) too many players place all of their investment in the first fight, and they fall into a rut afterwards, specifically if the team fight is lost.

Seething shore is so disliked I can only imagine it hasn’t been scrapped because of Blizzard lack of care or sheer stubborness. Comparatively, I’m fine with the rest of the BGs but shore is often an /afk.

What is there to say? The objective is poorly conceived. The way we respawn is ridiculous and actually encourages dying so you can dive directly to the next node. Spinning for minutes is obnoxious for me personally. Objectives that spawn randomly is also a big negative for me. My expectations from my team to play the map properly is lower than any other map and it’s not uncommon for them to all clump together while the enemy gets free caps.

If I do try to spin a node for ages it’s likely that no one will ever come assist and it’s frustrating to deal with. Fighting over a node only to have people from ships able to immediately dive down to reinforce and elongate the tedious fight over 1 node is infuriating… for me at least.

The rare person on here has said they like the chaotic nature of the map or that they like that they can contribute by spinning a node forever, but I’m confident they are a small minority.

WSG. Too many memories of trying to get Silverwing Sentinel rep to get the bracers Back in The Day.

Why are we still mining for azerite…? worst BG

Prob the Azerite one. I feel like I get it all the time.

I used to get EOTS constantly but i still like it.

I know what you mean by the time they fill up its too late. I was in an AV that we started down 40-21 sure we eventually got into the 30’s but it was way too late

That’s pretty good right?

Down with Wintergrasp: To address the title of this thread, my personal least favorite Battleground is Wintergrasp and I am even saying this as Horde (Horde easily wins most of the time). It’s just tedious, forcing a confrontation to level up to then buy siege vehicles is just terrible. At the end of this BG whether I win or lose I just feel jaded and a lot of the time I log out when it finally ends.

Moving on: To be perfectly honest, the thing that frustrates players the most is getting soloed by an enemy player without even being able to take 10% of their health off. BGs are meant to be fun so why allow the ridiculous power/gear gaps?

I returned to the game just last week and I have literally been mowed down by mages and hunters before I can ride my mount up to them. I am grinding gear but losing interest, I have done a lot of PVP since returning but am still dying in seconds to a number of enemy players, this is not fun and has me questioning whether to continue or just un-sub again. Couple this with the same old dreary BGs and it’s a recipe for boredom and clicking that log out button.

AV and Ashran: Any BG that focuses on PVE to ultimately win does not work well in this game. One side either runs through the process real fast and kills the leader (very minimal PVP actually happens) or there is a stalemate and it’s just a mass laggy PVP grind until one side hits 0 reinforcements (aka boring). We do not need giant BGs 10-15 player BGs are best.

Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, Battle for Gilneas, Eye of the Storm, and Twin Peaks: These are okay but ruined by under-geared players (no fault of their own), as soon as one side has more than 2 extra players under-geared then the PVP becomes a joke with one side facerolling the most under-geared side, there are rare exceptions to this but it’s boring unless you get two similar teams.

I have not mentioned some BGs and that is because they are not even worth wasting words on, delete them.

How about adding a BG to the rotation that does not take gear into account, one where we use Goblin Mechs or something, everyone would have an equal chance, skill would mean something and it would be so fun.

Also: Maybe create BG teams from the pool of all players and delete this 1990s idea of two sides/factions, this way the system could match people by gear level with spreads of 20 item levels or so and only go outside the spread if not enough players can be found within 5 minutes.

Lastly: The number one thing that will save PVP in WoW is the removal of factions, one pool of players fixes queue times… Instantly!

As a side note: The last time one of my PVP suggestions (others had the same idea too) was added to the game it took 12 years. So I don’t expect anything regarding PVP to change any time soon. Oh and I just remembered, there should be absolutely no requirement to do PVE in order to upgrade PVP gear or to do anything in PVP, I found out the other day that I had to increase PVE renown level in order to upgrade my blue PVP gear… what a joke.

Like…Wintergrasp? Where literally anyone can get into a vehicle and do the same amount of damage as someone who’s of higher ilvl?

I’m guessing Isle of Conquest is your favorite BG.

Yeah but Wintergrasp is crap :stuck_out_tongue: and vehicles are limited.

You don’t like Wintergrasp because you don’t like siege vehicles?

Or you think people should be able to use siege vehicles from the start?

Seems like you just want to pick holes in my post, which you are entitled to do, but I was simply just stating that Wintergrasp is my least favorite BG due to the tediousness of the vehicle mechanic. Both sides having vehicles straight away could be more fun but some other re-design would have to happen for that to work.

Admittedly, I am biased in favorite of Wintergrasp.

Temple of kotmogu because of the horrendous line of sighting everywhere making it awful to heal multiple people in different directions

You said it better than I could . I also don’t like the CTF maps. Just too hectic . Seething shore is bad too when you have unkillable tanks running around.
