Learn from BFA. Never pre-order or buy an expansion until you can certifiably see that it's a good expansion

How much do you want to bet that this same person will probably be back in six months to complain about how much catching up he has to do?

I nearly always preorder, and almost always a collectors edition (mountaholic). I’ve yet to be bored by an expansion. are there some things i’ve disliked? yes. but even WoD I enjoyed. it wasn’t until midway through, with the lack of new content over its lifetime, that i was truly displeased with it.

granted, i do more leveling, exploring, and farming than dungeons and raids at this point, but I’m hoping to change that in SL.

but if you’ve truly been disappointed with the last few expansions and no longer enjoy playing, maybe its time for you to move on to another game you’ll enjoy more.

me? I’ll stick with WoW. maybe dabble in classic here and there. on occasion go build a house in the sims for a change of pace, but 80% of my game playing will most likely be WoW.

lol you mad?

Dug this up 3 months later for that?

Majority of the players here are 40+. That’s the demographic for this game. For them, all this game has to do is run on their computer and that’s good enough.

WoW is top tier casual. The raiding and high-end game scene and the people you see posting on this forums, including myself, are very different.

There’s no point in stressing any dissatisfaction with the game. These people live inside the Blizzard bubble. They support the game fully and get upset when other’s don’t.

Their favorite line and back peddle defense is “play another game.” Until they come across LFR being too hard and then crying here that it needs to be nerfed.

It’s the same thing, over and over.

(Notifications are off. Not interested in reading the crying.) o/

Without borrowed power, theres nothing to do… change my mind.

Btw, ap amd tier sets are borrowed power

There’s going to be nothing to do for casuals anyway if you don’t count grinding worthless gear.

Raiding? You guys will always have that. Its about as casual as it gets, with exception to bleeding edge

Sure. Mythic raiders keep lecturing casuals that raiding is super easy and fun while rejecting them 100% from their pugs and guilds.

How exactly is this statistic acquired? Sounds anecdotal to me…

Well, I mean if you apply for a mythic raid pug or a ce guild without any experience you absolutely should be rejected. Gotta learn to walk before you can sprint with gun shoes on high. Find a casual raiding guild. Some aotc guilds don’t even require experience.

And normal pugs routinely insist on AOTC after the first week. You know this is true.

boots must be quite tasty

Nope. I sure don’t. I don’t get rejected from heroic pugs often, of course I know what to look for. If you sign up for one that says aotc when you don’t have it, you should expect to be rejected. Those are people who are farming the boss that aren’t looking to hold your hand through every fight. I’ve literally never been rejected to a normal one other than one only had one spot left that filled as soon as I applied.

I take it you got rejected by one group and never bothered again.

Good news! Every class has at least three “viable” specs except Demon Hunters, which, honestly, is for the best.

Touche.
But, only for the rejection from guild part. They do seem to do that. As far as letting you in their groups, that’s just because of lack of experience.

If casuals would just hit the ground running in a guild, casually of course, right from the start of the tier, they’d get much further than they thought.

I was surprised how easy raiding was in this game. That is, of course, individually. now finding 19 other people that won’t make mistakes every pull, now that is the real raid boss

Dude, its a game not suspense thriller. :rage:

That aint exactly my checklist OP.

Heres mine:

Am i probably going to play this expansion anyway just like i have done with every other expansion since vanilla?

Ooooh! it also comes with free stuff if i preorder?

Am i currently playing the game when the preorder expansion deal is announced?

If the answer to all three of those is yes, then im going to preorder. The only legitimate situation i can see where the answer is no, is during one of those random periods where i drop the game for a year or so and just sort of miss the pre-order things…

Luckily theres usually a blizzcon somewhere to remind me to buy it anyway even if im not currently playing it.

Always be mad at the stupid!
