LBRS, UBRS- Back in the day

So back in the day we would run Lbrs, and ubrs in 5 man groups…It was harder. Did anyone else do that? I don’t recall why… maybe to gear up alt’s or something… Hmm odd.

I only did it once, with 3 rogues and 2 druids, ( one tank one heals ) in order to slap some of our bloody palms on the attunement device.

I can’t recall ever running UBRS with only 5 people.

Wasn’t the attunement device outside the instance in the hallway from the balcony?

I remember ranking on a different server with a warrior late in 1.12 (was right before I needed to leave for RL). in pvp. A friend asked me to join an UBRS run and after we finished I got a draconian reflector because the other warrior had it already. Of course this is normally a coveted tank shield.

What was funny was a little later I got asked to tank a scholo, they knew all I did was sit in BGs but I was servicable for 5 mans. They were probably expecting me to say no (I usually did since I was running BGs), but I agreed to join. Then I popped on the shield and a guy said on vent “You have one of those? damn” The way he said damn was funny.

It was funny at the time, nevermind. =P

That’s the orb for Blackwing Lair, after you find the paper on the mob outside in that hallway.

Then which attunement did you mean? It’s been so long…

I’ve only run scholo that ONE time as a tank remarkably enough. 4 of the 5 in the group were the people in that same UBRS run. The one that wasn’t was the one that commented on the shield.

It went remarkably fine. Though again this was deep enough into 1.12 that my buddies were geared. They wanted a particular item and we were running for it, it didn’t drop, forget what it was. Only time I tanked scholo and none of us died, so that’s good.

Hes probably talking about collecting the items from lbrs that you need for the ring to unlock ubrs. You could do stealth runs for those with a druid/rogue group and get it much quicker that way

wow, that’s actually impressive. especially with rattlegore’s room . do you remember if you did rattlegore? the adds in his room hit super hard

Ya, i played a rogue…named Rogues… odd times

That’s how you get in. But the identical device inside UBRS was required to be touched with Drakkisath’s Blood to attune you to the device outside.

I really don’t remember. We were pretty strong though like I said this was late in 1.12.

All horde had to run LBRS 5 man for there Ony atuument so… Though, i do love 10 manning it, and stealth running it. It’s a pain in the rear for a 5 man, though you can skip a good chunk of it with a 5 man group, by hopping off to the left side and skipping the top ogre and all the trolls.

As for UBRS 5 man? I myself, never did, why would you? Drak sounds like a Pain in the rear with 5 people.

LBRS 5-man was normal, because quests for LBRS were not raid quests and could only be completed in a 5-man group.

I don’t remember ever doing UBRS with 5. We did it with less than 10 sometimes, if we didn’t have a full ten and didn’t care, but we could usually find 6-7 people if we could find 5.

There were a lot of horde that only ran UBRS for the onyxia attune and to get the trinket (since that was a quest reward on the way). So most didn’t really know what they were doing at the time.

Ya, Felt more like we didn’t want to wait around for a full 10… but it’s a good test for the 5 players. Don’t know, just something odd that came to mind thinking about the old days.

In order to get into UBRS you needed the seal of ascension, which required 3 gems off the bosses in LBRS.

I remember running LBRS over and over and over with friends to get the Wildheart Shoulders on my Druid (never got them, still hate Halcyon for it), the throwing weapon off one of the troll bosses, and helping guildies get their keys.

5-manning UBRS is only possible for most groups if they are all decked in full Tier 1-2+ raid epics.
