You mean baby diarrhea yellow?
Because it’s a multiplayer mode that’s completely separate from the main game. If people can play it any time, the more it goes the less people will keep playing because the rewartds are exhausted and the novelty is gone. What’s the use of having it out permanently, if over time less and less people will be available to play it, until you reach a point you can take hours in queue to gather 60 players.
By making it available at a certain time window, Blizzard can introduce a few new rewards as a carrot and make way more players queue at that period of availability to ensure the mode works.
Yep. Exactly. Having limited time events drives participation, which looks good for their metrics.
What I see some people keep asking for (removing the rewards entirely, making this game mode permanent, etc) would have a negative effect on the game in the long run.
They want and need to keep players coming back and perhaps pick up some new ones along the way.
Plunderstorm had a fair amount of community participation the last time with smaller events and competitions. Streamers also apparently had a good bit of fun with it. This is good. This is the kind of attention that’s healthy for the game.
Good, that much less I have to play it then
