Lazy Phase 4 Comp Out

2/3 of the new runes are just the weapon skills…

So we don’t get actual content to earn or find the weapon skills in some way, and 2/3 of the new runes are wasted on making them available.

This is the laziest possible implementation of weapon skills, and its incredibly clear the devs just went:
“Why don’t we just make them ring runes? Then we don’t have to come up with actual ways to find/earn them, and we’ll only have to come up with 3 options for 1 rune slot per class, half of which we can just copy/paste from some other expansion :smiley:

And then to top it all off, for those 3 runes you gave most classes trash, and the same broken casters that have been broken all of SoD more overloaded nonsense. Looking at you “Storm, Earth, and Fire”.

Phase 4 should have been the climax for runes, instead its weaker than any previous phase by leagues :man_facepalming:

The disappointment cannot be overstated.

o yo wanted to ask, how to i beat a paladin as MM lone wolf hunter? cant figure it out. tho i do keep engaging everytime bubble can be used lol

the new trap CD reduction should help big time but stay at max range as much as possible, however be careful that exorcism has a 30 yard range and will daze you if you’re in aspect of cheetah (for p2 and p3 it was the only thing with that kind of range outside hammer of wrath though so you could have safely swapped to cheetah after you take range dmg as long as you’re not in execute range)

Rep is 20 yard range so be mindful of that as well

actually now we have avenger’s shield again though, and that hits you with a daze, 30 yard range as well (pally has options on leg now, either avenger’s shield, kick, or tremor totem, all decent so it’s not a guarantee they’ll be using shield swap macro). 30 sec CD, big mana cost, but the obvious tell is if they suddenly equip a 1h and shield. Try to maintain viper from max distance, could be worth trinketing the slow and keep moving. conc shot stuns and freezing trap are really just your best bets tbh. if the paladin has a wep enchant you can likely disarm them and shut down a lot of their damage, the smart PVP oriented players will run weapon chain though.

it’s a rough match up for you guys generally in a 1v1, especially if paladin gets the jump and has CDs. really surprised you didn’t get disengage, you probably should have. trap right as he’s about to close the gap though if he is getting close to melee range, HoJ is 10 yard range and if you get HoJ’d it’s likely a wrap after that

it’s rough but if all CDs are up, usually ret wins. if not, hunter wins.

new trap CD is big though. hope you guys get early version of disengage to help vs melee
