Lazy healing design

Like wth is with hpallys and fistweavers…
Its like a dev at blizzard just said “too hard basket” and made healers into zug zug also…
Sorry but this is just pure laziness

Problem with healing is that its not currently about healing. Its about who has the best answer to the stupid dampening ramp up. And that answer is disc with its damage and its non dampening affected defensives.

I agree… i was just in a lobby with an Hpal aimlessly running around the map doing 120k HPS without even casting a single heal lol, super cringe design the games gotten…

Disc will get nerfed soon on damage.

Current Melee wings hpal and fistweaving actually take way more skill than afk healing from 40 yards

I don’t fistweave but there’s one super high rated fistweaver at the top of the ladder on EU and every other monk isn’t even close to his rating

As for hpal…….This is the highest skill floor hpal has ever had as weird as that may sound.

I don’t think clunky unfun design equates to skill.

As you’ve said before when dealing with rogue mage ‘it not that hard to pre use a defensive.’

I think the same logic applies here, its really not that hard to anticipate when u need 5 holy power. Oh wow you juked a CS while running precog? much skill very wow, any healer can do that.

Oh lookie you hit the RNG lotto and proc’d melee wings with awakening. wowwww. Guess when you play hpal its all about getting that RNG proc at the right time.

Cmon man thats weak for a player of your caliber.

This is the only viable way to play a healer now. If you cast you die. Remove all the cc and interrupts before changing healing design

the hardest part of being a healer is positioning throughout the match as people are moving around. fistweaver (melee wings kinda) completely ignores that whole mechanic as well as completely being immune to kicks, so i strongly disagree

Fistweaving is extremely degenerate if you don’t have good CC.

It equates to how hard it is to play

This clunky 5 holy power melee wings hpal in this meta is harder to play than other versions of hpal

It’s harder than bfa hpal

It’s harder than legion hpal

It’s harder than wod hpal

Knowing when to weave in and out of the melee in order to dodge hard swaps and avoid crowd control is harder gameplay than afk spamming instants while humping a pillar 40 yards away like shadowlands or bfa

If you are fighting a comp that doesn’t have a lot of cc then melee wings is pretty braindead(aff ele)

But if you are fighting a complete like dh boomy where you need to be hyper conscious of chaos nova cd and clone dr and avoid those accordingly then there’s alot of things you need to be tracking at the same time.

But do you have the discipline to hold holy power when ur teammate is 40% hp or spend the holy power anyways because you had the awareness to see you were at 94 stacks of reckoning?

not that its the same as bankmw in 3’s in eu

I play it and I get nearly globalled any time I’m swapped to. I see some Mistweavers try it and they too die way too easily or some get CC’d and their partner gets globalled. But there are a few Mistweavers that make it work or rather the DPS don’t provide enough burst on windows to kill the monk before they can heal back up. Also fistweaving not being a smart heal is awful and if someone pops a defensive on the enemy team suddenly your healing gets cut in half

i think most classes at a high level do this, but a mw ram ranching u all game rping as a windwalker just to press port when they get stunned or port a cc isnt really any different from what a casted mwer would do lol

Healing RSS boils down to which healer has more buttons to save their teammates from themselves with… and disc has a ton of buttons to do this with. They can also cover down on a bad dps with their own dps.

It’s pretty crazy blizzard hasn’t done anything about them yet, honestly.

Yeah, I’ve played fistweaver enough to know that it has problems that keep it from being generally strong. However, fistweaving is one of those things that is really overpowered in specific matchups or situations, even if it isn’t good otherwise.

I really think the gameplay style of damage = healing that some healers have is usually bad for the game. I’m cool with healers being able to do good damage, but it should be a choice that takes timing to be effective, and it shouldn’t also make their team immortal at the same time.

You target the HPal in the opener and they are forced to use bubble which is dispelled by the disc priest on your team in 0.3secs, throw cc onto a dps, then kill the HPal with auto attacks in 6 secs. In the unlikely scenario that you dont have a disc priest on your team, just focus the HPal anyway and they will soon die.

As for the reckoning stacks its really a non-issue, having awareness which everyone needs does not make one thing more skillful. ESPCIALLY when things like weakauras exist nowadays awareness really isnt much of a skill anymore.

Knowing when to weave in and out? Thats any healer and nothing unique to hpal, rsham trying to push in for hexes off of bolt, rdruid when to generate combo points for stuns, etc, etc.

Wrath hpal is 10x more skillful than any iteration of hpal since WoD. I.e you have active mana regen mechanics, not just set it and forget it like you have now. Right? You gotta know when to weave in and out to regen mana in wrath and be able to use divine plea at the right time because your healing is reduced by 50%.

Current hpal is not a skillful iteration of hpal, just a very poorly designed one.

It’s not skillful but it’s harder to play at a base level whic is why I said SKILL FLOOR.

A brand new player would have a harder time learning current hpal than wrath hpal not because it’s super skillful because it’s harder at a base level

Wow judgement doing both damage and healing? /yawn. Least in wrath you have to hardcast some damage and dont also heal while u do damagelol. You actually have to choose between doing damage or healing and hpally has a unique fun melee rotation if u wanna do some damage.

Plus you have buffs to account for and need to pick good opportunities to rebuff.
