Layering Problem with Escort Quests

I don’t want this to become another layering rage thread. Just reporting a problem I experienced while playing last night.

I started an escort quest and sometime after starting the quest, I accepted a group invite. The group invite was for a PvP event I wanted to go to after the quest was done. Shortly after accepting the group invite, I layer shifted and the escort NPC disappeared. I quickly left the group hoping to get ported back to my home layer, but that didn’t happen and I had to abandon the quest.

Is there any way that a timer can be put in to stop you from getting layered while on an escort quest? For now, I will just not accept group invites while doing escort quests. But, it would be nice to know if this can be fixed in the future as I never had issues joining groups while questing back in the old days.

Did you report this problem in the bug forum ? That’s the proper place for bug reports…not general.

Failed the escort quest in red ridge yesterday due to this, layering needs to go! I’ll take the crowded zones and having to compete for mob tags, layering just kills the experience

Keep in mind that if you are in the habit of joining groups while questing, if someone turns it into a raid group, you won’t get credit for your quests.
