Layering problem solved

Somehow I doubt there will be no competition between layers for resources. You think you’re going to hop layers for the Arena chest, but so do a dozen other people.

My suggestion is far more viable and less immersion breaking. Nobody wants to fight a mob for a herb only for that herb to despawn because someone on another layer that they couldn’t even see got to it first. Also, since layering is based on the premise that each layer is a separate server, trying to connect all resources probably isn’t something that could easily be done. It wouldn’t take much effort to change respawn times, which would have the exact same outcome.

My comment on the STV chest is accurate. It wasn’t released until 1.4. Just launch it with phase 2 like it should be anyways and it’s not an issue.

The rare mob comment doesn’t even need explanation. Who cares. Long respawn times and low drop rates. We are expecting maybe 5 layers max. A good chunk will probably be gone in the first week or two. At best you can expect to farm 2-3 layers for a week or two.

I wouldn’t harped too much on the Arena chest issue, if the players complained too much about arena chest and layering, Blizzard has been known to take the simpler approach which to disable the arena chest totally till Phase 2 when layering is gone, which is effectively ‘nochange’ by then

If blizz goes with this. Problem solved. Best solution yet

At the very least they need cooldowns on layer switching… and delays.

Like…

1.It takes a 30 seconds timer to get into another layer
2. Once you are in a Layer you have a 5-10 min. cooldown on getting into a different layer.
3. If you get in combat or looted a node you have a 3 min. cooldown before you can get into another layer.

That helps with a lot of the exploits… not all and not completely, but it helps a lot
