Layering: Few Weeks or Phase 1

I don’t see that happening. If anything I can easily see layering lasting all the way up to phase 2 and my concern is what happens if the majority of players do not quit and you still have 9K-10K on a realm at the end of phase 1.

Does not mean most or any of those players would stay. Nostalruis had huge number start playing but that dwindled down to that 75k or so.

Wasn’t the point though. Private server appeal is completely dwarfed by the real thing and most people have no clue what Nostalrius was.

And as every other Private Server person repeatedly points out, no-one was playing it because it was free, they were playing it because it was their only option.

Realm Layering Update

Over the five weeks since we launched WoW Classic, we’ve continuously monitored realm populations and utilized layering when necessary to handle launch populations. As we’ve said before, we will have all realms on a single layer before introducing world bosses, and a great deal of progress has been made toward that goal.
