As much as it sucks, there’s not much you can do. Getting layered, when you don’t want it is terrible. But, at least we have layers. The game would be unplayable without it. I’ve seen 10 layers up. You wouldn’t have even been able to accept the quest. In a week, it’ll calm down, and layering won’t be as much of an issue.
I’d rather have issues now, than a dead server later.

there’s plenty they can do.
simply remove the hypering layer experiment and return it to “no changes”
As much as I’ve been against layering since its inception, I tend to agree now. Plus, escort quests are dead to me until about two weeks after the start – too much frustration otherwise, with or without layering.

It was fairly bad in SoD as well. I kept trying to do the Redridge escort quest and would layer into one with a bunch of horde trying to do wpvp and they’d blow up the quest. One time, after finally getting close to Lakeshire without getting blown up, the damn escort layered without me and I ran up to the quest giver without the quest failing but no escort along with me.
its quite annoying. and this new “feature” really makes it worse.
The game is still pretty unplayable with layers right now. A better fix would have been to just increase spawn rates, drop rates, and gave aoe credit for things like escorts. In a week it’ll calm down because people will have stopped playing the game. I can’t see this fresh being too successful, especially with no gdkp.
How is it unplayable, outside of the specific escort quests? I’ve only had issues with competition, but with hyperspawns, that isn’t even a big deal.
