I’ve noticed a sharp rise in the number of hypothetical situations in which YOU as a regular player should be concerned about the use and applications of layering on your realm.
I’ve heard it all: Rumors of resetting dungeons, rare spawns, rich thorium etc. Rumors of people drifting through these layers like trans-dimensional wizards stealing everything in sight and vanishing into the night.
Onto my point. Have you ever played a classic realm that was massively populated? Maybe one of the ones not officially sanctioned by Blizzard. I have and I know exactly what happens when the rush of players hits say…Un’Goro Crater for example. Anyone that has an intention of bringing physical DPS to a raid knows why you might want to control access to Devilsaur Leather.
You can’t monopolize every single spawn point in every single layer with a member of your guild. This is a problem because it means you can’t sell each leather for 100g a pop if any non affiliated entity has access to even a few nodes or spawns. That or invest in buying them out.
Can you see why these players are interested in layers going away as fast as possible?
