Layer switching is the problem, not layering itself

Yes I know, that’s why I love visiting here tbh

Not sure how that even remotely related.

If your point is that people have blatantly lied about multiple things including how awful layering is I guess you’re correct though.

but on the other hand - people did point out how exploitable layering would be, that it would be detrimental, and proved it further during the beta.
you think blizzard would have taken action back then against layering exploiting but nope. clearly not.

the old saying of “exploit early, exploit often” exists for a reason.[quote=“Ziryus-doomhammer, post:258, topic:286941, full:true”]

because the forums always blows stuff out of proportion.
is layering hoppers having some huge impact on the game? overall no.
but it is having an impact, and enough that blizzard is taking action.

and no changers aren’t the only ones blowing stuff out of proportion. look at all the people who said no one would play hybrids unless they changed them. oh look. hybrids are literally everywhere.

blizzard added timers on layering… now players are making group with low level players to remove the timer… untiul blizzards put a 3-4 hours timer on the layers that cannot be removed by grouping wioth other people this junk wont stop

What is detrimental though? Someone hit 60 early, while others hit 60 in the same time frame? That doesn’t affect you or I as we’re both not even 30, but not because of layering (for me anyway)

if im reading the forums correctly most of us (my main is a resto shaman on classic) are healing. as we’re not able to do the AoE a mage can do so get passed up over exp farm groups. i specifically wanted to heal so i’m not having an issue. but i imagine mr ret pally that gets told to pee up a rope are not as happy.

Back in the day you did trust them. But new credit card regulations requires them to use a new system. Before you could literally give a GM your credit info to buy a transfer for a friend on another account. Laws changed. You’re not trusting them with your money. Strawman arguements are often flawed much like yours, but here is a rebuttle anyways

Or how about the crazy insane idea… No layers… MIND BLOWN

I’m also not seeing the swarms of hybrid dps/tanks we were told there would be, most seem to be healing.

They have secret weapons

the impact it can have on the economy? clearly it’s having enough of an impact that blizzard is taking further action to prevent layer hopping.

i’ve seen plenty of paladins, druids, and priests running around as dps.[quote=“Ziryus-doomhammer, post:265, topic:286941, full:true”]

and yet we still see hybrids of all specs.
furthermore from what several people on these forums claimed, people just wouldn’t be rolling hybrids.
but by gosh, they were wrong.

personally the only interest i have in grouping in classic is to heal. i have no desire to tank. and my dps class alts are all farmers to help my shaman and priest. my friend told me that druids were not any good in classic so i am weary of making him to heal.

i see plenty of druids out there in the world, despite the fondest claims of people like ziryus.

OR they are getting ahead of it before it actually does have an impact.

it’s already having enough of an impact that they are looking ahead and saying they need to fix it in that case.

Many of the stories are wildly inaccurate, as he wrote.

I don’t see them banning or punishing anyone for this. To do that they’d have to admit the flaws in this system they’ve touted as necessary. And they’ve already basically said people are blowing the exploitation out of proportion. That may or may not be true, but the message their sending is pretty clear.

inaccurate as in = we would look stupid if this was true

and yet if it wasn’t having an impact they wouldn’t be taking action.

Or they are trying to appease the forum crowd
