Partnered with a friend on discord. I was WW monk he was Ele shammy.
The first floor was really tough and slow.
Each upgrade was carefully considered.
Multiple pulls were scarily close to death. Used full toolkits of the classes. Paralysis CC had some clutch saves. His earth elemental saved on last boss. Reminded me of my of Vanilla dungeon experience in BFD.
Fell of a chain to our death once.
Tried to get every secret and anima power.
Wiped once on the final boss. Had 2 lives left as we pulled final boss second time.
Felt super accomplished when we killed him and received 305 soul ash and each got legendary recipe.
Talked about the run for 10 minutes with laughs. Both of us look forward to future runs.
10/10, hope it lasts and believe it will.
Any others have similar experiences???
I always take the word of glory casts spellwarding power and forbearance increases dmg power as a synergy.
If i can stack those with either the judgment cool down or holy power increases ever couple second power. I wreck everything.
By floor 5 i walk into a room aggro it, divine toll it, word of glory, then spam shields of righteousness. Its hilarious.
Wish there were more powers tho.
Saaaaame.
That ball of souls boss died in like 10 seconds. It was nuts.
Some of the builds you can get are insane.
Pretty much every run I’ve done has been epic. I really enjoy Torghast
I also enjoyed every run of Torghast, I just wish that there was a reason to run it after you get your weekly Soul Ash.
I want to share the video of our ending to a third floor run here, because it was absolutely ridiculous. But I don’t know if my friend will allow it, so basically:
Balance Druid
-I got the anima power that increased the frequency of special spells with Convoke
-I opened with the Stealth 200% Wrath
Frost Mage
-Three stacks of the time increase with Time Warp, so time pass like 90% faster or something
-Blink leaves Mirror Images, Rune spawns Mirror Images
Restoration Shaman
-Free first Blood Lust on each floor
-Totems give Blood Lust for 15 seconds
-90% Haste increase
I was doing 30k DPS. It was the most glorious feeling.
No one had experiences like this during Island Expeditions or Warfronts.
I’m still apprehensive of running layer 3. Not sure if the final boss was bugged or if it’s supposed to be that hard. I never did get through him I just left the instance due to frustration.
Layer 3 took me forever and was dead boring until the last boss.
The only thing I like about Torghast is I can stop doing it eventually and I hope that point comes sooner rather than later
Yep, the concept is amazing. In fact this entire expansion is actually amazing. I honestly thought Blizzard didn’t have it in them anymore but they proved me wrong and im proud to say they have.
So many experiences ive had so far have officially sealed this expansion into greatness territory even if it flops later on ive had an amazing time. Love the story, love Torghast, love my covenant, love the rares that are actually rare and unique in how to uncover them, love chests for the same reason, love that gear is slow to come, but feels oh so good to get. Love that because of this buying upgrades to gear doesnt feel like a waste. Love how dungeons feel, I even love the mission board concept thats now more a strategy card game.
I think they knocked this one out of the park and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Also, I love that they introduced the primary villain immediately and the entire story is very focused on what your goal is and what his goal is.
This could be the best expansion to date tbh. Even over TBC. Time will tell.
I was stabbed by a surprise assassin after walking in and then turned around and left.
It does seem like a cool solo challenge though. When I have the time, or rather the motivation I mean, I might try it again more seriously sometime. The thought that this is only level 3 of 8 is a little scary. How much harder does it get?
Definitely was epic.
I pigged a 5 man and all 4 of the partners were goofballs lol so we had fun chit chatting.
We got some crazy powers in the end all synergizing and started pulling half of the floors kiting and screaming bloody murder, died a few times with laughter and eventually killed the final boss
And crafted my bis LEGO
I tried solo with my WW, that assassin got harder each level. Was harder than the gate bosses!
Bro ele Sham is so fun in torghast
Paralysis him anytime you need a break, just perma CC him and he’ll be the only one that’s spawns
My warlock had a run that gave him double infernal spawns on cast, and made it so his anima power spawned and infernal. It spawned two also because of the first power.
Four infernals meant zero downtime on chaos bolt, with enough haste that backdraft wasn’t really necessary, deleted the boss in about five seconds.
Got a second run that stacked 5 infernals on cast, but unfortunately didn’t get the second anima to double it. Looking forward to having 10 infernal spawn one day with 5 on a 1 minute timer.
UwU♂♂
I don’t have any awesome torghast stories, but I love that you came here and are excited about the challenge, rather than angry that it was tough.
so far, I’m loving torghast myself. it’s pretty great
I’ve been very impressed with Torghast. Quite a few runs I’ve only finished by the skin of my teeth. I’ll admit I haven’t had a failed run yet, so that probably colors my impressions.
I like the way it’s set up. Run it for your ash a few times, and that’s it. Run lower levels if you can’t handle the highest difficulty - that’s perfectly fine. No speed run necessary, take your time if you want. Good stuff.
Yeah I think I got my lust increase to 70% but still that + lust every 30sec was niceeeee, always love getting it and the instant chainheal / lightning combo… Also got cloud totem to restore a lot of health too. Fun times!
Last week I had increased damage to HoW, 3 extra charges to HoW, and HoW extends the duration of Avenging Wrath. Was pretty nutty.
