Layer 1 does not need to be tuned for endgame geared people, there are other layers for that.
Those layers can be the ones that last all expansion long
Layer one should be a cake walk in quest greens with maw rat healing upgrades only.

DUDE All of Torhgast was nerfed down to the casual level and we were told that Twisting Corridors would be where the endgame players would play, don’t kill this for people who want a challenge too.

You’re in BLUES my man, and Twisting Corridors don’t even reward anything useful. The best thing is the mount for the Maw and there’s another way to get one of those for casuals.
If a 164 is being one-shot, bring a tank. Please, ffs, not everything in the game has to be 100% accessible to literally everyone who just hit 60.

The challenge mode wing whose first layer contains a story quest with extremely relevant story cutscenes. We can get “LFR” layer one and still have “challenge mode” Twisting Corridors on the later layers. What self-respecting hardcore player looking for a challenge is going to run layer one more than once anyways?

First, even layer 1 of the challenging mode of Torghast is not supposed to be a cakewalk.
Second, for anyone who knows their class and can appreciate a challenge it is actually a cakewalk.
So it really does not need to be nerfed.

Which has been shown to be doable just running floors 1-6 3x. True Blizzard didn’t explicitly say it can be done, but it does work. So if 18 floors scaling is difficult for players they can just repeat 1-6 as needed for the 3 clues and then leave.

TC is supposed to be the challenging version of Torghast. It already felt too easy and I worry I’m going to clear the majority of these layers without much struggle at all.

It has no gear it doesn’t need to be the type of challenge that is determined or helped by ilevel. Put gear in it then i’ll agree with the rest.
It has a questline in it, does it not? It shouldn’t have to take you 18 floors and a ridiculous amount of time to complete, not everyone has that kind of free time in a 2-3 hour lump.
Being that it is needed for the campaign, the very FIRST layer shouldn’t be over tuned, not everyone has mythic/raid gear. The first layer should be a cakewalk.
You have 7 other layers to beat yourself over the head with if you WANT to.

I did layer one at 141 ilvl on druid and was a cake walk

It’s because it has no gear rewards that it can be a challenge. Then players (non raiders especially) are not barred from progressing their characters.
Also, every part of the game is made easier by ilvl. Your argument makes no sense.

The way it seems to be scaled, we might clear layer 8 by around… oh.. 9.4 or so.
To clarify, I don’t think Blizz actually intends for it to be cleared right now. They have just put content in the game that is likely unbeatable with current available gear.
