Was fighting the Massive Magmashell and he has a casts that puts a “Lava Dispersion” debuff on you. He’s long dead but I still have the debuff. Thankfully it’s not causing damage but it is producing an annoying warning “you’re standing in flame” graphic on the edge of my entire UI. This happened last night and even though I logged off for hours and went to sleep it still hasn’t gone away. I still have it many hours later after relogging.

Another suggestion usually floated for stubborn buffs and debuffs is to queue for a PvP event. When the queue pops, your buff/debuff bar is scrubbed.
Just tried this suggestion, it was a no go. I guess I will try dying. lol
Well joining a BG didn’t work for me. But I was in the Waking Shores battling an Elite Proto Dragon, and miraculously, the debuff disappeared. It could be because the dragon was casting his Primal Fire spell? But who knows? I didn’t have to die. 
I currently have the same bug, flames around the monitor ; Lava Dispersion debuff : no damage. It says it should be a 20sec duration…I tried renaming the Cache,Interface and WTF folders…no change. I tried the /console cvar_default trick no luck. I thought it was a display problem but I am quite willing to jump off the aspects tower to get rid of it thanks.
I suppose I will try the dragon breath cure first …Winchester Lothar
Dragon breath didn’t help, I thought a new debuff might bump it off but no.
Jumping off the tower worked perfectly, and only cost me 50g to repair which I know Blizz will reimburse me , right? Right?? gl all
Still appears to be an issue.
This is still a problem. Why hasn’t this been fixed? Or, if intentional, why is it? It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if it wasn’t for the fact that it surrounds your screen with flames.

Can confirm, just die and it’ll reset.
I’m gonna try the “just die” fix, but as of April 2024, it’s still happening.

Confirmed, I killed my while flying and when I released and returned to my buddy IT WAS GONE
