The every race every class crowd definitely ruined potential great class explanations.
All Paladins that aren’t traditional are just going to be Tyrs guard instead of their own unique racial lore.
All Druids just going to use homogenous transformations instead of unique racial models.
This is why every race every class is terrible for world building and fantasy.
It’s why the next big 3 mmos Riot,Lord of the rings and Warhammer mmo are going to have race/class restrictions cause it’s so much better than diluting fantasy by letting everyone be everything.
This is why the ghostcrawler mmo sounds terrible. It is going to start everyone in the exact same starting zone and every race every class is going to be available from launch project pixel castle more like project boring universe
The cool thing about D&D is if you’re making your own story, you can have whoever you want be evil. But blanket evil race is pretty boring, IMO. It’s lazy.
Dont we already have a difference when it comes to paladins and races? Alliance have paladins while the horde has lightwalkers, bloodknights and sadly i cant recall what the Zandalari are called.
But isn’t the purpose of RP to make your own character unique? You choose their personality and everything, the world at large doesn’t necessarily impact your character, if you want it not to right?
As far as Druids with the addition of those awesome customization changes, it doesn’t matter to me. The racial ones are there as an option but the new ones are my preference
At least it keeps it easier not to mess up. Kul Tiran and Zandalari druids are already pretty much forgotten when it comes to development. Less is more, in this case.
They’re evil to your morals but to them it is normal.
That’s reality… even in humans while other humans are acceptable to abortion other cultures think it is evil.
This type of writing is so much better than modern wow.
Blood elves imprisoning a Naaru and siphoning was evil to a Draenei but was normal to their society, this trend of putting everyone and every culture into the same bottle is some colonizer type writing
Imagine how boring D&D would be if Tieflings could only be rogues, warlocks, bards and fighters. Aasimar clerics or paladins. Dwarves can be fighter or artificer only.
It’d be so much harder to make a character that is unique to your individual experiences and tastes. Part of the challenge and fun of making a DnD character is fitting them into the existing lore in a way that both makes sense and creates a suitable character arc for your avatar.
WoW currently doesn’t have this for every combination, and it’s ostensibly less fun for it.
Players should be for whatever makes the game more fun for everyone, full stop. Arguing the contrary is just nonsense.
So instead of your tiefling being just a diet human paladin with red skin your tiefling is now a fighter but still have deep faith for a certain diety, not a paladin but simply a faithful individual.
So yeah it only cuts on creativity if you have a room temperature IQ.
Every wow race being shoved into the exact same morals is absolutely terrible.
I love how in Elder Scrolls the wood elves believe in cannibalism it makes them unique, wow trolls aren’t able to be this way cause they have to be diet Stormwind human as possible.
