Latest update has literally broken my computer

On Tuesday 30JUL24, at around 10PM MST, I logged out and shut down the game. A few minutes later I restarted the battle net with the plan to relocate a character for when I log back in later.

Upon starting the Battle.Net program, it instantly went into update mode. Several minutes later when it finished I pressed the PLAY button only to have my system go to a blank white screen with a constant (Every five seconds) notification pop up that says “Application has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware. Application Wow.exe has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware.”

Not only does this pop-up happen every few seconds, but I am also unable to close the World of Warcraft (Not Responding) window. I am also unable to end the task from the task manager. Even trying to shut down the computer has the WOW program interfering with and blocking the shut down.

When the system finally does shut down, upon restarting the computer, I can’t even try to access the internet and place this complaint because the pop-up instantly returns and interrupts everything I am attempting to do, and goes into a Blue Screen of Death before shutting down. As such, this post is being made from a computer that has not yet been corrupted by your latest update.

And before you tell me that it has something with my mods or third party programs, know that I DO NOT run any of those, nor have I EVER had them on ANY of my systems.

The error just means what it says. Something else on the system, maybe antivirus, Windows Firewall, another app’s overlay (mouse/keyboard/discord/OBS/etc.) is not allowing the client to display. Usually the culprit is in your exported DxDiag or MSInfo error reporting (you MUST export the report to actually see errors).

It appears that following the maintenance of today (31JUL24) the issue has been corrected.

As I am not a programmer, I am unable to troubleshoot many of these ‘event log’ or ‘DxDiag process’ things as I have no idea what you are talking about, where to find them, or even what to do with the information if I do find it.
