I am 100% against most timed stuff. All it does is cut down on socializing in groups, make you not want to play with friends that may not do the best damage/healing, and makes you rush when you just want to enjoy the game.
If the problem with having no timer is the fact that some classes have Bloodlust and not others, all they had to do was not making Thorghast (and also Visions while weâre at it) solo content. Just force 5 mans. It makes way more sense when you look at how the encounters are designed too.
Blizzard: Weâve been thinking about some kind of timer for Torghast.
The vast majority of the playerbase: NO GOD PLEASE NO, NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOO.
Blizzard: Does it anyway
If bloodlust/hero is the issue, than they should create powers around those that buff them or other skills but limit the number of times it can be used per floor.
Thatâs a ridiculous âfixâ. Bloodlust is the problem so force it to be group? Uhh no, how about just make it only usable once or twice per floor. That actually addresses the single issue causing the problem, instead of turning something people were looking forward to into something completely different.
My understanding is Torghast solo content so you wouldnât be in a group or with friends anyway. (And, seriously, if you choose not to play with a friend because they arenât the best at damage/healing, you arenât much of a friend and they should learn that.)
And why is Torghast solo content? Did the developers forget this is a MMORPG? If they really want to create solo endgame content, they should just offer a solo mode on all the dungeons and raids for a specific level and above. That would not only offer solo players more content but also give multi-player players the opportunity to explore, learn and experience the content without the âgogogoâ mentality before doing it with a group. (And before anyone starts crying about gear, I would suggest the difficulty and gear be equal with open world content.)
I would argue that cooldown usage is an important part of playing your class and it should be present in Torghast.
Itâs alpha, they are seeing players abuse the lack of timers. They should not be balancing around fighting for 30 seconds and waiting 9 minutes for cooldowns to reset-that it going to make it boring and not fun.
Same here. The Torghast with itâs 1-5 player range is one of the main reasons my wife and I are playing again and considering returning for Shadowlands. Something we can do together by ourselves or with other people as we choose. If itâs yet more timed-based content, thatâs a big turn-off.
The reason many of us never cared for the mythic+ system (or the current visions of nâzoth sanity runs) is because of the time pressure. Get enough of that in real life, donât need it in a source of entertainment. And as you said, timed content tends to be anti-social because people get so focused on completion they forget to stop and have fun, or you end up with some high-school drama BS with people throwing tantrums because something went wrong. Again, enough stress like that in real life.
For people who get a thrill out of timed pressure, mythic+ and systems like the visions (or those whatâs-its challenges from Pandaria) are there for them. So, the game needs MORE content that ISNâT focused on rushing, and hopefully Blizzard will recognize this with Torghast. Itâs a great idea in theory; letâs hope they donât bork it up in practice.
If there is timers for the gear version but an unlimited one where you earn cool cosmetics like the mage tower than Iâm cool with it as long as we have an option.
