Four cinematics in BFA. Opening cinematic features some tit for tat action that shows the alliance losing in the end before they get deus ex Anduin’d with the light (honestly, it wasn’t that bad. If I had to pick, I’d say alliance: 1, horde: 1 after the opening cin).
Old Soldier cinematic 100% pure horde.
“Alliance cinematic” is 10% Genn, 40% Anduin, and 50% Saurfang with Anduin admitting that the Alliance simply can’t win and Genn letting us know that we’re out of soldiers.
“Safe Haven” is 100% horde (including some awesome forsaken rogues who perfectly explain how rogue stealth actually works. Gratz rogues, you are literally and actually invisible).
So out of four cinematics, the Alliance have been featured in two halves of two cinematics. That’s Horde: 3 to the Alliance’s: 1.
I guess we’re just not interesting enough to get any attention.
I would like to introduce people to the wild Horde fanboi.
Even after Genn Greymane says, “That’s the last of the soldiers. We’ll be recruiting farmers next…” and anduin says to an enemy combatant, “We can’t win.” obviously the alliance are winning everything.
Oh yes, they love the Horde so much this is the second expansion with a major theme being the Horde tearing it’s self apart because of awful warchiefs.
The Horde gets cinematic’s because its the faction that is most shaken up by this war, their the ones struggling with internal strife. The Alliance is kinda steamrolling over them (partially) due to this.
The Horde are the aggressors, the Alliance are the reactor’s, always have been and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
And yet Legion was near entirely Alliance focused. Heavy on night elves and draenei, the Horde heroes didn’t appear much. People were crying “Alliance favoritism” during that entire expansion.
The factions won’t be 50/50 balanced at all times. I think it’s ok for one to get some more spotlight from time to time. Right now the Horde has it because they’re the ones with problems.
Right as of now the Horde storyline is so broken that it’s in a real dire need for a fix.
Blizzard pretty much screwed up Sylvanas and destroyed her character.
Bringing back Thrall will go some way to fixing this.
Alliance storyline has been written so much as a goody two-shoes faction, there’s pretty much little more of anything interesting in the Alliance storyline.
Blizzard needs to put alot more intrigue and division among the Alliance instead of them singing campfire songs and holding hands.
I for one am happy to see Thrall return, and hopefully take over as Warchief of the Horde
