In my attempts to complete the Zek fight on ?? I’ve run into some issues.
I was noticing lots of strange things going on and in the course of trouble shooting them I’ve found my network connection is suffering from high download/upload latency and high jitter.
My ping is 5-14ms on average… but my up/download can hit spikes of 600ms. upload is worse than download on average.
This leads to things like my druid getting blown out of the sky by ez-mine nodes when on my screen I’m flying off to the next node.
This spreist can’t finish the Zek fight on ?? because of things like the spit DoT ticking on me when it doesn’t even show on my screen. THe frontal cone hitting me when I’m not standing in it or even behind him.
What can I do to fix these issues on my end?
I called my ISP, the only one we have available in my town of 300 people and so far all I’ve been told is basically “it’s not us, sorry can’t help you”
psure it is them cuz even on the test websites I see these latency spikes and the terrible jitter.
What are my options?
Do I just keep calling them until they fix it? Psure I’m the only person in 100 miles that plays wow so I not sure how far up the priority ladder I’ll be.
Is there some settings or configurations on computer I can make that can help alleviate this?
I have a fiber to the house service, not sure I will have access to the modem settings.

edit 2: Fun fact
I booted into my Arch linux install and alot, but not all the problems went away.
Still getting jitter and latency issues when connecting to WoW from my location.
This encounter is still more network benchmark than anything else.
It needs to be adjusted for players with less than ideal low latency connections.
