No youâre not too late for this several people are starting to play now for the same reason.
There are still plenty of molten core and blackwing lair raids going on. When you hit 60 it should be easy to join a few and start getting gear for TBC.
Is it to early to
No no its not. Tell Blizz you dont want a boost and start leveling now.
Jump in, itâs never too late.
Itâs still going to be a few months yet, which is plenty of time to level and do at least the earlier tier raids. If you play a support class that is in demand where gear is less important than tanks or pure DPS, you might even be invited to Naxx raids. My shaman in dungeon blues was been invited to Naxx runs because of windfury.
You could save yourself some time and get a boost. Who knows maybe youâll get a mount too!
You totally donât need to raid anything to get ready for TBC. If you just get your tier 0.5 set or some of it, a good weapon, and youâll be fine. During Vanilla, my Paladin was in blues when TBC hit, and I was fine (I was able to craft Lionheart executioner with little problem)
If youâre looking to get Stormherald eventually, it will be more important to make some gold and max out blacksmithing.
If you level at a decent pace you will probably hit 60 before the prepatch. During the prepatch they may introduce the leveling QoL changes introduced in TBC that will help you level faster quite a bit tho. Either way, the prepatch alone will probably be long enough for most people to get to 58 since they are introducing the two new races at that point.
