Late access was a mistake

This is coming from someone who bought the physical collector’s edition, but “early” access (let’s not lie, there is no early access, just late access) is dumb and shouldn’t be a thing.

Want to pay more for extra stuff? Why not, it’s been like that for the past 20 years. We’ve always been able to pay more for special pets, mounts, transmogs, etc.

Being able to play the game on launch day? That shouldn’t be a “perk”.

I’m not sure what you are saying. As I understand it you pay to get Early Access and the rest of us play on launch day. What’s “late access”?

What is the OP on about?

back before Dragonflight was released, the cost of standard, heroic and epic was decided and posted on the web. each of the three choices gave a player insight what was being offered for which price and upgraded prices for heroic and epic packages. Jump to The War Within, nothing has changed except 3 day pre-access was added to epic. the costs of each of the three packages are exactly the same as DF.

if a player bought epic for DF, they most likely bought epic for TWW. one extra incentive: 3 days extra access before the masses. you still get the 30 days game time. the cost difference between heroic and epic was 20.00.

furthermore, you are not missing anything except the massive lag. this 3 day pre access is more like 3 days of stress test for beta. stressing the servers and stressing the patience of the players.

And people wonder why people have been going off at each other over Early Access…

This is something that has traditionally been included and not as a perk, everyone starts on the same day. If you want to pay to win buy the Epic edition. The last bit is my addition.

I’ve seen the notes claiming that Early Access day is launch day but then everyone is entitled to their opinion.

WoW is the property of Activision/Blizzard a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation. We are guests on their property. They get to decide what is Early Access and what is Launch Day. Their “opinion” is more equal than the others.

Now if you wrote your own video game and offered it to players, it would be your property, the players would be guests on your property and you would make the rules.

fomo maybe?

Tiff, it’s all just marking gimmick bs. The release date for the expansion was the 22nd and the 26th for people who didn’t cough up the money. The expansion is active right now.

I have issues with being able to speak obtusely. I’m much more of a direct speaker. I believe that they have legally covered their bases with the world release on the 26th it still doesn’t change reality that the release was on Thursday. I would make a terrible lawyer tbh.

Edit, Sorry the rest of your post was meaningless as I am a customer not a guest. I treat my guests well.

Doesn’t mean a business cannot evolve.

What exactly are they “winning”?

When you open the doors to nonsense, you don’t get to decide the line in the sand. Many players wanted none of this nonsense. But it was accepted and encouraged. Now everybody has a different threshold that they somehow feel is more valid than everybody else’s.
