I managed to buy every armor off the vendors. I don’t care much for most of the weapons from the rares so I’m not going to screw with camping the rares. So I’ve been done for a few weeks now.
Did you finish all your remix goals?

all weapsons lvled tons of toons to 70 45mins each didnt gear all, 3 toons Bronze capped Geared to 556 all quests done all reps done all items from all vendors yep im happy
I achieved everything i wanted to a long, long, long time ago.
And then some. In that I did everything and got everything.
Yep. Created 14 characters, all got to 70. Bought every item that could be bought with bronze and bones. Even nabbed a good amount of the random weapon drops.
I found out that I skipped a lot of the group content when MoP was live, but managed to run every scenario, dungeon, and raid during Remix. Rarely had any bad groups, since I can’t even fault the speedrunners for speedrunning. It’s what they do.
wow when our toons convert to retail they really get stripped of everything it seems
Every armor off the vendors. Every toy I was missing. Every mount. Every class up to max level (many of them deleted after I got their leveling bronze bonus, just not for me). And ALMOST every weapon from the raids that have recolors.
I would care more as a completionist if I actually planned on using any of the weapons for mogs, but since I don’t I just can’t be bothered to care that much.
That said, I feel for those who wanted/want the complete set. It irked me for the first month or so, and then after the other changes, but no changes to those weapon mogs, I just accepted it wasn’t going to happen.
I got two characters in full epics with fully upgraded gear as well, and was able to solo everything I wanted, and run some friends through raids and dungeons at warp speed to get them leveled as well.
Overall was a very, very fun experience (especially after the bronze/thread increases), and I hope they do it again with WOD and/or Legion in a year and a half, or whenever the end of this expansion will be.
Having to grind for over a week to reach the fun so many already had soured the entire experience and turned it into a chore.
There’s still things I want, but they can’t be bought because they refuse to put weapon appearances on a vendor, and last I checked cloak stats don’t actually carry over making leveling alts that much more of a chore.
If I had to chose at this point I would rather level through the pre-expac event than set foot in the nerfed trashfire that is Remix. And no, I don’t care if Remix would be faster.
No.
I wanted a bunch of the cool weapon mogs that will never be seen again, were unique to this but were inexplicably locked behind zone drops all across the map with low drop rates. Meaning I’ve been farming for weeks, desperately trying to get some of these.
It’s not at all good that Blizz didn’t either add bad luck protection (say increasing chances of seeing these drop that goes up to 95% or something with enough farming per character) or the ability to buy weapon look arsenals with bronze of which I have hundreds of thousands just uselessly sitting waiting to be wiped.
In fact everything I did in remix was for looks and mounts and toys (one set of which is still widely known to be bugged and doesn’t seem like Blizz is aware of or will fix it before it ends which is unfortunate as I can’t buy it again despite not learning all of it). I leveled 7 characters to 70, geared 5 of them to 476 and all so I could do runs, farm looks that I still need.
Frankly I’m exhausted just in time for the new expac and won’t be playing it because I’m burned out on no-life farming for some of these weapon looks. So I hope my played activity metrics are pleasing at their next progress report to Microsoft because that’s all that having these random world drops at such low rates really gives Blizzard.
At the very least in the last few weeks they could have buffed drop-rates of things if they can’t add bad luck protection. Things like hyper-spawning rares (every 2 instead of 6-15 minutes), increasing loot tables, adding a multiplier so all rares drop on average 2-4 weapons per kill, adding a multiplier to regular mobs so they drop weapons at 400% rate of previous or something.
If they’re worried about people quitting and the world dying for people who came to it late they could incentivize that. They could give people a new token currency for every LFR, Normal, Heroic raid run they do which at like 5 could be put towards buying an arsenal with a random unlearned unique to remix weapon look. That would keep people carrying and helping others rather than solo farming in the world, kill-stealing rares, killing rares before anyone else can tag because they’re running around frazzled tried to get as many rolls of the dice as they can before it’s over.
But none of that was done. I’ll keep trying for a few of them but this is no longer fun. It was fun for the second week I played after starting to get overpowered but now it’s just an awful slog with very slow progress. In most zones I can’t even figure out what mobs I should farm because most respawn too slowly to be an effective farm or don’t drop the good stuff at any reasonable rate.
Most people don’t even realize how many unique weapons looks there were. It wasn’t really communicated. There have to have been a hundred or more.
I grabbed everything, only need about 40k more bronze for the last toy then I’m out. Was fun
I grinded 4 alts, leather, plate, cloth and mail, for weapon transmogs since day one. All achievements done, mythic siege done since early June.
I have retired remix since August 1st. That grind is terrible but it was all worth it at the end.
Occasionally I will go back and do a carry for people in need if I am bored of pre patch
Due to real life circumstances, I was not able to play WoW at all for 3 months until July 24. So, I’ve been scrambling to catch up.
All I’m missing right now are some of the LFR appearances and heirloom gear. Sadly, I won’t be able to get all the heirloom stuff before it ends, but such is life. I’m sure I’m missing some of the weapons and such. I don’t see me getting all of them either.
I’ve tried but I cannot get the 1H sword (Tian Monastery Saber) to drop in Townlong Steppes.
My goal was reaching cap on one character of each class and buying everything off the vendors, so yeah, goal reached.
I’ve even finished most reps and loremaster too.
NGL, I’ll miss the horizontal power gains from this event (threads), the amazing movement speed and every piece of gear being useful for a long time, thanks to bronze, until we didn’t need bronze anymore.
It was the best mode in the game to simply unwind.
I suppose, I quit about 6-7 weeks ago. I wanted to get all the weapons, but at the rate they were dropping, I just didn’t feel like putting in the effort to get them. All in all, it was fun. Some variation of this occasionally would be fun, but I’m really really burnt out on the MoP raids now.
My original goal was the new mounts on the bronze vendors with the secondary goal being the new armor tints. Both of those I completed and more.
My strategy of focusing on daily quests for bronze, spending it all on mounts and progressing into solo scenarios only off of threads rather than upgrading my gear proved to be a very non-optimal choice, but at the time I was more worried i’d burn out after a few weeks and wanted to make sure all my progress was going towards my goals. In hindsight, I’m not unhappy that my attention was focused on just open world content for a while.
Going in, I wasn’t sure if I would be participating in instances very much as my intention was to play purely solo. Because I wasn’t aggressively upgrading gear, progress through through even normal scenarios was very slow in the first few weeks.
Once I had all the new mounts and the bronze drops for instances were buffed, I started to change my strategy, focusing more on my gear to be able to tackle dungeons. The idea of soloing raids was never really a goal until I started successfully taking down bosses. But raids are where the bronze started flowing like crazy and everything spiraled,
My collecting goal inflated to “get everything being sold for bronze” and I completed it. The weapon drops were a bit of an unwelcome discovery but since I didn’t have a checklist (and wasn’t going to install an add-on) I decided to not make them a goal.
My progress goal inflated to “clear all the raids solo” until I hit the hard wall at Galakras. So no tusks, no heirlooms, a few missing achievements. I poked at heroic raids, but didn’t find them fun, so didn’t add them to the todo list. That decision made the choice to not pursue weapon collecting a goal a little easier (I’m a completionist at heart, but sometimes I do draw a line when it stops being fun).
With all the goals that felt fun complete, I retired from remix with 50 days left, 380k threads.
I surpassed my goals and in record time too: less than two weeks in.
Yup. Was able to purchase everything that was available for bronze. Even the items I could have cared less about.
I’m happy with what I achieved in Remix, yes.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t all the weapon mogs that are unique to the event, purchaseable off of vendors?
Everything you can farm up is already in the MoP on live and can be farmed any time, no?
