I think that WoW should make it so we can have last names on characters. Tons of other games allow it and I feel like it would be a good feature because you would see a lot more unique names.
search your characters name on the WoW armory and see how many other people have that name, sometimes the results are in the several hundred. Having last names would change that. It would also allow for more people to have the name they want on a server.
Think about the times you try to make a character only to find out that names taken already. People even resort to the Alt code special characters to get a name they want and I feel like having last names would cut down on that as well. What do you guys think?

It would lead to the same as it is now. Iâd rather not lose a raid tier for last name implementation

The possible unique combinations would go up exponentially, so no, it would not be the same as it is now.

As I said in yesterdayâs thread about this⌠no.
We need the option of one space, hyphen or apostrophe instead. The space can cover last names and hyphens and apostrophes give people the option of racial naming conventions we see on NPCs.
Last names are too restrictive and not all races use them.

Limit it to 1 space 1 hyphen otherwise people will be making bad names just spaced out or bots with nothing but spaces and hyphens!
To add: I think I slightly misread your post.

Indeed, slight misread. Not a problem! I might have worded it a bit better or maybe emphasized the âoption of oneâ part. That mightâve helped.

That would work. As it is now, I just give my characters last names in details.
Throw in the ability to use an apostrophe while weâre at it, as there are plenty of names that use them.
Thatâd give us a lot more possibilities without forcing last names on people that donât want them.

If youâre a Jenkins you can have a surname.
No. I like the simplicity of single-name characters. Leave as-is.
My last name is Smitty. My title is the undying. Looks good from here.
