Last chance for easy Kalu'ak rep farming for the water breathing fishing pole

Tonight is the last night you can get the Darkmoon Faire buff with the WOTLK rep buff to do Kalu’ak quests. I forgot to grab the DMF buff initially and I’m about 7k off capping the rep with an ex-Remix toon, so you will get really close if you do them all.

Not really worried since we have the 50% TW Buff until Tuesday morning. I didn’t even think about the DMF Buff.

Can you buy tokens for this rep with the TW vendor?

No I just looked and it’s only the major factions.

thats weird for it to not be included, but then again, they went and removed the PVP rep tokens from the Vanilla TW on the PTR too :O(

Why tho… you can grind out arathi basin rep in a few days during comp stomp… why take out the pvp reps ESPECIALLY wsg?

Here I was just using churnbelly tea from dragonflight.

Yeah with the Mastercraft Kalu’ak Fishing Pole just put it in you fishing equipment slot and never have to worry about being underwater again. I’m getting on all 13 characters and I’m already over half done.

that was the one i was zeroing in on too :O( (WSG) , I grinded out AB rep awhile ago via comp stomp, AV too, though someone said they nerfed the heck out of the rep gains there , no idea honestly.

I would be very surprised if this fishing pole survived War Within unnerfed. Which is why I didn’t bother with it on my mage here.

Felt like my little secret back in DF so I hope it survives. Is the DMF buff really that good? Maybe I’ll make a pass at it today

This one is definitely worth waiting for the Brawl.

It is 10% and I did all the quests in Borean and Dragonblight without it and hit revered. Did the ones in Frozen Tundra with it and got really close.

Stop telling people about this kind of stuff. If you find a cool thing, keep it to yourself.

It’s posts like these that get things like this nerfed.

If in a future patch they nerf it so the water breathing doesn’t work in delves, I’ll know who to blame.

For your mage you can just grab the Hydrocane from Gnomregon. It drops off of the first boss. Run in and jump off the edge, kill the slime boss, run up the stairs and run out. Reset and repeat. Has a 30% drop chance I think.

When you get low on air, pop the staff on for 5 second then swap back to your normal staff.

once you get this for war within, how do we upgrade it to 619 or current expansion? do we put a special line or what? thanks, for the help

They were never there though. They were a minor faction. But I am surprised they werent included in TW dungeons like how you get Taunken (or whatever those Taurens are in the same general area). Same with the 2 tribes in Shalozar. Not there.

You just equip it in your fishing slot. Its just another tool for a profession. Just go to the fishing journal and there a spot for rods.

oh ok cool so i can’t add a line to improve stats or anything for catching fish got it

Correct. You can (or at least should be able to) pop it out and use it as a rod like normal for fishing

They would have to nerf things like Forsaken natural abilities and any class with their own version of water breathing if they did that. So keep using the rod. The cane is too much of a pain. Grab the noggenfogger elixirs. They stack 200 and last for 10 minutes, so you should only need 2, though it can sometimes take 2-4 to get the underwater breathing, but it seems to be the most common effect.
