Last boss of a raid are overtuned in Heroic, a thread since Shadowland

Since Shadowland (I don’t remember BFA and Legion being that bad), the last boss of Heroic are extremely overtuned, to the point that Blizzard need to nerf them several time to put them back in line.
Current exemple, Raszageth. Currently on Normal with 20 raider, she have 200M HP. On Heroic, even with the 5% nerf, she have 290M HP. That a 45% increase. I don’t know what kind of gear you expect raider to get between normal and heroic but it won’t increase everyone dps by 45%. On Normal, Stormsurge give her a 26M Shield, on Heroic, that shield have 43M, that a 66% increase. 66%!!
I know people can kill her and a general “git gud” would help, but I dont get why Blizzard keep those Heroic fight so hard for so long. They don’t even give good gear. Right now, Raszageth have 33% less kill then Diurne vs only 9% less kill on Normal.
I get it, a huge amount of raider do Heroic and not Mythic for various reasons. fixed raid size being a huge one for me, and if Heroic raider clear too fast, they will stop raiding. But right now, as soon as we have our Heroic kill, we are just too tired of the raid and stop. Previously, we would keep on raiding Heroic for a while and then swap to Alt raid for fun. But since the last boss of Heroic is just not fun, we just stop.

Noticing this as well. Fundamentally I don’t mind, I like challenging content, but it is pretty disproportionate to the difficulty of the rest of the fights and my guildies who don’t regularly run M+ (for experience and gear) are struggling on this one.

As was the case on Danny and Sylvannas. Jailer went surprisingly well for us though… lol.

I suppose it’s because they had their season 4 ready so they didn’t need to spread this patch content so much but at the same time, Anduin was their brick wall, they didn’t need an other.

Heroic final boss is the end game for a large majority of raiding guilds, especially if they can’t field enough players to even go into mythic. I would think the developer’s mindset is to give them a taste of what mythic raids feel like before actually setting foot inside.

I don’t disagree about the difficulty step up with Raz over the rest. You can easily reclear the first 7 and still be hard walled on Raz. That difficulty spike is massive. In fact, if your team struggles to reclear the first 7, you don’t beat Raz - not a chance.

It isn’t all doom and gloom though. You don’t need absolute cutting edge DPS to win - you just need people who are actually competent enough and know what they are doing. Our first kill had mostly ehh-ish to average parsers with only two of us actually parsing purple and our kill felt very solid. Then Raz got nerfed even more and now she’s actually a joke - we breeze through her on reclears.

So, yes it’s tough initially. But you do feel that sense of progression when you upgrade your gear and perform better. Currently, Raz is by far easier than Denathrius, Sylvanas, and Jailer heroic.
