For me the initial flagellation hit only registers twice…am I just not understanding the tooltip or has it just not been updated?
its only lashing twice for me too. seems like a bug gonna report it
Take this with an absolute grain of salt cause my memory is cheeks, but I’m nearly certain I saw a video mentioning the tooltip says 4, but that it is intended to only hit twice.
EDIT: found where I heard it.

If you take the conduit off entirely the initial hit is only hitting for like 1500 less, so not making much sense to me either
The Lashes are all counted up as 1 mention in the combat log. So, all the lashes in the initial hit are being counted. Best way to see it just comparing the damage to the tooltip.
My second Flagellation hit for 1,277 damage. Each lash on the tooltip says 321. 321x4 = 1284. Pretty close!
Likewise, Eviscerate shows a single lash hit for 1613. 321*5 = 1605.
E: Just to clarify. The initial hit gets it’s own separate mention. So, you should see the initial hit and a second hit that is the added up amount of the four lashes.
Idk the conduit is either bugged or details is. Im running the same rotation on a dummy and getting 1-3 lashes. With the damage going up accoringly for the amount of lashes it shows.
That’s probably right as you get the 5% haste = 1% for the initial hit, and 4% from the other 4 hits. But the tooltip is very misleading as it implies each hit would be the same as the first.
I feel kinda scammed ngl… saw kalvish and nahj’s omega dam on ptr and even with 213 ilvl gear and 200 conduit its nowhere near that kinda burst
Even on low hp targets in arena it does about 7k damage on the initial hit which is ALRIGHT but not really worth losing soul shape over…
I wasn’t expecting that kind of burst. I heard you keep your renown when switching back to a Convenant though.
Yea I campaigned on 4 characters.
Start of day I was still getting 8k intial + 5k from 1 finishers lash even if blades didnt effect it into heavy stun reduc targets. Was getting anywhere from 13-20k (+5k blades).
Now my intial hit with 200 conduit is only doing 5k intial crit (8k on pvp dummy) since pvp crits 175% not 200% and most people having 30-32% versa.
In average goes with 5k intial crits i’m doing anywhere from 8-13k in an entire flag window adding it up or averaging flag casts added together. Even without looking at shadow blades a flag window with 1 finisher was doing about the same as a 3-4 finisher flag window after whatever other bugs got stealth fixed.
So probably not worth going out of way switching to it since a sepsis with conduit/niya mastery buff is about same dmg and less tight globals / grants combo points.
Venth only feels good if other team is bad and you get like 4-5 finishers on someone in a 3v1 cc chain and they don’t peel after your orc/sephuz/relent/kyrian clamped short stuns wear off.
Are you going back fae?
idk might just give up on my rog and actually try to be less bad at playing my war/ww.
Was waay too hyped for this and figured even if it got nerfed in half of what it was on ptr I’d be able to maybe play other comps or go cooldown reduction legendary, but nope.
Regardless of RMP’s potential with perfect teamates, perfect gear, and lucky queues it’s just not fun fighting 10-60% stun reduction (usually 20-30%) and double/triple healer hybrids in every game.
Wouldnt you rather play feral? Theyre p much immortal with guardian leggo and kinda performs the same setup with double stun goes
(No blind/sap sucks doe)
Appreciate the feedback and honest reviews, Nahj. Glad I didnt make the switch yet.
It super sucks to see the class in a state in the meta that top competitive rogues are looking to switch for the time being, but nobody can blame y’all or say you didn’t try to make it work. At the end of the day this should be fun.
I’m switching back, I’ve been bamboozled twice this week. Once with this and once leveling my warrior that’s been level 50 since like 2010 and thinking he was gonna be OP just to get smacked around. Guess if I wanna feel what one shotting feels like I need to roll mage, Druid, pally which interesting enough are the only classes I’ve never played
Not sure what your complaint about warrior is…still S tier easily, and the Exploiter legendary is still very strong for venthyr even if the buffs didn’t go through…
I don’t think it is bugged.
I think people misunderstood what the Conduit + ability did… If anything I think it was bugged on the PTR, not live.
When you use a finisher with Flagellation, it applies its combo point damage all at once based on the number of combo points (despite the tooltip saying it hits multiple times). This is separate from the Initial damage.
What the conduit does is apply the initial hit AND 4 lashes, essentially treating the initial cast of the ability like a 4 combo point finisher (while also increasing the damage of the whole thing). This is what the conduit implies.
However, on the PTR it was literally applying the INITIAL damage 4 additional times… Essentially multiplying the initial damage by 5 when it wasn’t supposed to do that. My theory is that it did that at first due to the spaghetti code from the old Flagellation where there was no separate “initial” damage, it would just apply 3 lashes initially (if that makes sense).
This makes too much sense and would perfectly explain how a 160% damage increase would result in nearly a ~6 times increase in damage.
Yea, that and it was intial critting same amount on tar dummy as players with 8k intial crits @ 200 conduit and now intial crits usually around 5k. I think it wasn’t being lowered by versa and was critting 200% instead of 175%.
After I stopped using it in openers and not pairing it with blades as 2 separate goes it felt a lot less bad. Still an ok way to force cds with a 8-15k dmg provided in a 2-4 finisher go. Kind of hard to give it a fair wrap on details when It’s forcing defensive cds that lower the damage it did.
If you overlap it with blades in a crit window you force the same cds pretty much. Adapting to door of shadows is just multiple sessions of growing pains on needing to kite way earlier, but honestly it’s slightly better than sepsis stars aligned damage since unspellable by hybrid dps.
That makes a lot of sense to be honest to use it on separate goes. I can see using Flagellation on the first, Shadow Blades on the second and if the fight is still going, Hopefully Flagellation will be back by the 3rd go.
It’s a strong skill when you’re able to train your target and they have no way to dispel it but I have a hunch Blizzard will be slapping the conduit with the nerf bat sometime soon.
