Well, I’ve had people point lasers at me a few times over the years and survived.
I’ve not been hit by lightning, but having once seen what it did to a tree in the back field, I don’t like my chances.

I would say lightning spells are more powerful than laser sabers.
Lasers. But Lightning is very, very frightening.

In real life, lightning.
In game, still lightning as lasers are only used for scopes and plasma beams are different altogether.

Lasers, according to Throne of Thunder.
Durumu can oneshot anyone at any level or item level with his laser but Lei Shen can’t one shot a level 70 with any of his lightning.
A laser can take an airplane out of the sky, lightning cannot. Just a thought.

IRL? Lightning. It’s a violent force of nature that kills what it touches unless you just so happen to be extremely lucky and well grounded at the time. Laser technology isn’t advanced enough to have death rays.
In sci-fi it’s probably lasers, but i suppose it depends on the sci-fi. In halo the plasma weaponry will canonically melt you into a bubbling pile unless you’ve got an energy shield.

The USA Navy has lasers on ships to take out objects like drones or the engines on small boats. They were developed for modern warfare and anti-piracy. I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want that pointed at you. You’d pretty much be cooked.
