Laptop wont boot from charged battery

I need to know if this is the first sign of a Spicy Pillow. I do have a new battery on order.

So the system will not boot on battery power, although the system while on wall power tells me the battery is at 85%. It also is not charging beyond that 85%. This has only happened since last week. It booted from battery just fine then. I have read some articles on Windows updates saying that sometimes the updates are disabling the battery charging. The fix of course is to pull the battery and reset the battery drivers in windows. Am I leaving myself to danger if I use the computer with the old battery installed? Thank you for any input you have.

Is it a danger? Don’t know without seeing the battery itself. Since you’re going to replace it anyways, might as well open up the laptop to see what the state of the battery is in.

If it is truly bloated, then you risk rupturing it which will then become dangerous.
