My brand new Lenovo laptop overheats while playing WoW and being plugged in. No addon issues, no running programs, no open browser, and my PC is ventilated and on a good surface. I previously had this issue and resolved it by setting my power/battery setting to best efficiency mode rather than balanced or best performance.
Since the patch on Tuesday, it is happening again and I can’t find a solution because the previous solution is naturally already in place. Any further ideas? My temps usually sit around 60/65 on a normal day of heavy gaming but they have been creeping upward of 85/89 the last two days. Drivers are up to date.
I don’t see an option with fans in my gaming center. Just monitoring and options for battery. And this issue is seemingly only happening in Dragonflight areas. It was running fine on ultra no more than three days ago
i dont know much about your brand of computer that is how i control my laptop getting to hot on wow. the only game that will make your computer run hot dont know why but it does happen. Do you have a cooling pad you can put it on ? I had a laptop melt playing wow once lol
Check your graphics settings in game to make sure that you’re either vsync or a foreground frame cap are on, or both. Sounds like you’re running the game’s frame rate unregulated, which will make your GPU run hotter.
I’ll look into my fan speeds more. I would like to fix the core issue of course but I dont want to keep spending time on this weird and rather specific issue xP Maybe I will just grab a fan for under the laptop just for added measure
Ever since this patch, I’ve seen nothing but problems. So many people are having issues, I am getting FPS freezes on the character creation screen of all places. These issues are 100% from patch 10.0.5
