Laptop help

Hey folks,

Got back into WoW for classic after a long hiatus. Having a blast so far. Thought I would try the retail version while I was here and have been enjoying that as well. Looking forward to shadowlands, but I saw the minimum system specs have changed since BFA.

I have an old HP Envy Laptop from 2013-ish. It has an Nvidia 740m graphics built into the case. I’ve been able to play wow fine on medium settings. Takes a minute or so for legion Dalaran to load. I never purchased BFA so I can’t say what load times in those places are like.

But I see that my video card is below the minimum specs for Shadowlands. Am I boned? I worry that if the dedicated video card is obsolete the integrated video will be as well.

Other specs FYI:

I7 4-core at 2600(I think)
12G Ram

Not meeting the minimum requirements doesn’t always mean you won’t be able to play. It does mean your system won’t be supported and that the experience is likely to be sub-standard.

That being said, have you tried logging into the PTR to see if you can run the pre-patch? That will give you some idea…

I will try, thank you.
