Laptop for non-gamer

Family member wants a new laptop - They use it for watching Youtube, emailing, general internet usage, looking at photos, occasional Zoom calls, spreadsheets etc. They do not game or render videos or do photoshop editing or anything of that nature. I’d like them to have a laptop that will last a good number of years and not need upgrading anytime soon. Would something like this be a good fit?

Lenovo brand
11th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 Processor (2.80 GHz, up to 4.70 GHz with Turbo Boost, 4 Cores, 8 Threads, 12 MB Cache)

16 GB DDR4 3200MHz (Soldered)

5.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, anti-glare, touchscreen, 300 nits

512 GB PCIe SSD

802.11AX (2 x 2) & Bluetooth® 5.1

Windows 10 Home 64

Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Do you have a budget? That’s the most important piece of info for finding the best machine for a given use.

They wanted to spend under $1000 (canadian), so maybe $800 USD. In that kind of range.

If they’re going to spend 1,000 dollars, it’s going to be a half decent gaming laptop anyways. Why not get a good chromebook and save a couple hundred?

For the work you described the laptop you plan on getting is more than fine.
If you want to go minimalist just look at the $400-$500 US range and that should meet your needs too.

Okay, thanks guys, I appreciate the info!
