Hi all,
Installed WoW classic on my 2018 MacBook Pro (specs below) and had no problems running it for 3 hours last night at decent graphics.
Today, everytime I go to load my character, the game gets stuck at the very end of the grey load bar and crashes my mac completely, causing a reboot. Fan goes wild for 1/2 a second before computer reboots.
Here are the specs and below is excerpt of crash log:

Intel Iris Plus Grpahics 655 1536 Mb (i know this is trash)

Either something is causing the system to overheat rapidly and force a reboot, or you’ve got an issue with the SMC. Both of those problems can be solved by resetting the SMC by following the instructions in the link below. Give that a try and see if the problem persists.

Thank you for the insight. The support team tried a few things and offered the same conclusion, but oddly enough yesterday when I reinstalled the game prior to trying your above advice, the game loaded in fine. Today it reverted.
My only question is the laptop is through work and loaded up with company security & software…I just want to be sure the reset above wont impact those settings? I assume if the reset if the SMC is mainly dictating battery, power, etc. it wont have an impact on the overall system settings. Thoughts?
The SMC controls the system fans, audio, etc. It shouldn’t undo anything your security software has set up. I can’t guarantee that though as I don’t have security software installed. It’s possible that an update to the software has caused problems, but usually that doesn’t entail a reboot or shutdown like that. That’s almost always an SMC/heat related issue.
I had that happen till the last patch. I found that if after I started the game I quit Battle net it stopped.
