Don’t know if this is right place for this or not, but is there a recommended addon to translate foreign languages in chat to make communication simpler? This issue has been going on for over a decade for those of us that don’t speak spanish or other similar languages commonly spoken within this game?
Since I refuse to use any addon that allows outside links or to highlight and copy text, an in game assistant would be helpful.
Not that I’m aware of, thought Guides > UI and Macro might. Probably would be to intensive to live translate a game.
I remember final fantasy online used to have preselected lines you could broadcast. However that would be feedback for the general discussions forum or a in game suggestion.
I know it may be challenging and perhaps out of the question. First what language do you speak? And it could be possible to find a realm the said language as primary spoken.
I found older versions of addons that “worked” before the addon breakages, but in current wow there doesnt seem to be one. Seems strange for a game that is this old wouldnt utilize some sort of a language translator by now.
Actually, I helped a friend a long time ago implement a live translator into the game and it was insanely complicated. As it had to take the chat from all players on the platform and translate it multiple ways. The processing power required to do such wasn’t feasible, so we tried client side and people players reverse engineered it into a hack bot. We had to abandon the idea. Now granted that was on 2002 we tried but still. I suppose you could have AI do it, but again the processing power required would be unreal.
Anything AI generated would most likely get the system’s attention and auto flag my account for illegal 3rd party program. Not willing to take that risk. Guess I’ll keep looking. Thanks for the help.

LOL not what I meant, I was meaning for blizz to implement it, not us. I would not ever suggest putting our own accounts at risk.
