Language barriers don't make a lick of sense

How come Alliance can speak to the Earthen and understand them and Horde can speak to the Earthen and understand them, but the Alliance can’t speak to the Horde etc? Especially when Thrall is just standing right there and I can also understand him, but then a moment later I can’t understand the Horde.

What I mean to say is a language barrier in the game doesn’t make any sense and it should be eliminated and Horde and Alliance should just be able to share cities at will. Thanks.

From a story standpoint I 100% agree with you about language.

From a world pvp standpoint I can see that getting real out of hand, real fast.

What Meleth said, it was done to prevent some toxicity in pvp but tbh it didn’t work. People are just toxic to their own faction instead.

Except multiple races on opposite factions already speak the same language. Pandaren, Blood/Void elf, etc.

Also both factions can communicate in the learned Furbolg language from Dragonflight.

A lot of folks who wpvp use elixir of tongues anyway

Why would anyone want to listen to anything Alliance players say? :scream:

Because the devs are still incredibly stubborn and believe it’s fun to restrict players in every possible way. It’s the same with the outdated racial segregation concept, instead of letting players have their favorite races in their favorite faction. They’d rather keep forcing players to play a faction they don’t even like.

Your talking about dated mechanics and then including new mechanics into the mix. And it sounds like the solution of the problem already exists so why do extra code for something that don’t matter as there is a solution available. Sounds redundant.

The irony of saying this on an alliance character

I speak from experience, I have everything turned off on the dorf.

He only plays Alliance because he has to. Like I said, that’s the problem when, after over 20 years, the devs still think it’s a good idea to force players into a faction based on races.

Hold up. I understand nelf for pvp, but who HAS to play a dwarf?

Dwarf is the most powerful racial in the game’s history right now, since Blizzard has stoneform/fireblood just outright removing even Mythic-only raid boss mechanics.

Why do you think all the “Horde” guilds doing RWF had 15+ dwarves on their teams.

Dwarves also have good racials. Besides, it’s not just about advantages in PvE for everyone; for many, it’s definitely also about aesthetics.

Dwarves are also in the Top 3 for throughput for every DPS spec in the game, from their crit passive.

It’s an absurd combination. Anybody NOT playing a dorf right now is holding back their team.

If you are one of the few who think min maxing matters, more power to you.

For me personally, it’s not about the racials, but rather about the races themselves. It’s still frustrating to be forced to play a faction that you don’t care about just to have access to certain races. Allied Races were a good opportunity to swap a few models between factions, but instead, they stuffed copies of the old races into the same faction.
Well, Blizzard doing Blizzard things.

Preventing a raid wipe as the transition tank on Mythic Sark is not “min/maxing”. It’s preventing a raid wipe.

Go do the fights before talking about them, in the future.

so, it is what?
example:
A-> speaks English/ French
B-> speaks German/ French
C-> speak French only
thus, all can speak FRENCH!!!
they should be able to speak each other!!
you are right 100%

I’m not talking about them. Recognize that before putting words in my mouth, in the future.

And the amount of people who actually care about m raiding is a very small demographic. Again, more power to you if that’s your thing. But you’re not forced.
