I understand the drop rates are lower on quests where you only need one item.
Currently I’m farming the etched phial off the laughing sisters.
The phial hasn’t dropped, but I did gain a level from the farming and teleported twice to empty vender trash that filled my bags.
I remember the drop rates being lower for these one item quests, but c’mon man!
This can’t be bad luck as it happened to me on two other “only need one item” quests.
Can’t something be adjusted? Maybe?

OP the drops are random. Yes, it’s annoying but part of the game. Classic isn’t going to be changed.
So true. it’s funny I had an alt and it took me something like 150 mobs to get that gland, and on my next alt, I got it on the first kill. There’s RNG for you.
I actually haven’t had a bad time on any of my characters with the dew gland. The one that comes to mind for me is that stupid rod that drops from the ogres in the cave in hillsbrad
Yea for me the dew gland dropped within 20 or so on all my characters the Heculars Rod and the Phial were WAY worse for me on all my toons that I ended up just skipping both of the chains and just grinding easier mobs.
That one is just as bad… well maybe not quite as bad but its close… I am not kidding, every time I farm for that dew gland I kill at least half a level or more of mobs before I get one.
Doing collection quests in Hillsbrad is a big mistake!
Badlands… dragonling whelps… That’s a brutal quest. I think I killed 300 before the damned heart dropped.
You have to be on the quest The Sacred Flame for it to drop. You’re likely not on that quest.

A lot of how they worked drop rate in classic was based on the idea that people that actually got these items… brought meaning to the items…
In which case its the way it should be in video games… no free trophies to make you fee good about yourself here.
The warlock mobs make it so much worse. If only the minions would despawn when you kill the summoner…
What usually works for me is the first mob I kill after complaining out loud about the drop rate will usually drop the item.
I gave up on Dew Gland after 2 hours.
