I have tried searching google for this but not yielded specific results* to what I am encountering which happens to be a weird slight stutter/lag when playing DH. It’s almost like a graphical lag except it occurs at any graphical level. It is consistently happening in combat but occurs when I do things like mount up too.
I find it affects Havoc worse than Vengeance; it affects everything from ability input to what the game is spitting back out at me (the fight will end and I’ll notice a whole bunch of soul fragments unused that I could have used but they just didn’t register or something).
My other characters are a paladin, a druid and a lowbie monk - don’t really notice anything on them.
Ping is sub 60ms and framerates usually are at 70-80, though that’s being conservative - usually it’s a tad higher. Any ideas on what might be going on?
*I know back in the day, Fel Rush caused issues and there ARE numerous threads from 2 years ago to a year ago on DHs DCing on Fel Rush, none of which have happened in my case. Hence the thread. Thanks!
90% of the time, framerate issues are graphical settings. If you’ve fiddled with those and are still getting it, most of the remaining 10% are actually addons either doing a lot of computation or firing immense amounts of warnings. Try disabling all of your addons and seeing if the issue resolves. If so, slowly re-enable your addons in small batches (recommend only 2-3 at a time, but if you have hundreds like me, it may be more practical to do larger groups) until you find the group with the problem addon. That will let you narrow down to specifically the addon causing the issue (assuming it is one).
Note that it may also be a WeakAura, if you have that addon installed, since each individual WA functions sort of like a mini addon (especially ones with custom code blocks). If you have WA installed and have several WAs active, it may be work testing just disabling that addon first (which of course also disables all of the installed WAs) and see if that helps. If it does, you can start stepping through your active WAs and seeing their load setting to “never” (then exiting out of the WA settings window to let the other WAs load again) and see which one is causing it.
If disabling your addons/weakauras does not resolve the issue, there are a number of other issue that can cause it, but very few are class-related (most relate to system setup and configuration, like drivers and such). If disabling your addons doesn’t resolve it, I actually would recommend posting over on the tech support forum subsections, as Blues regularly post out there and help people with their individual issues:
