Lag/Latency spikes only in Classic WOW

Hello,

I keep getting lag spikes in classic wow only. Any other game or even retail I have no issues at all.

in game says my latency is usually 40-90ms. Internet speeds are 500+ MBs

literally every few mins the game will just get massive lag spikes. for example ill be casting nonstop and everyone else is running in place and then after a few seconds everything will fast forward and catch up.

I don’t know what to do to fix it. I tried fresh windows install, reinstalled wow classic and all my drivers are up to date. Tried no addons.

I believe those servers are based in Las Vegas (MST). The character you’re posting from now is on a Chicago-based realm. Maybe your connection isn’t as good to Las Vegas?

Happens on Dreamscythe too. I run into this issue where the game is unplayable every few days because of the constant disconnects.

Did you perform a UI reset when you did this, or just disable them? The behavior you’re describing can be bad addons. Blizzard does not check them for proper function, only for exploitative features.

Beyond that, connection issues are something to work on with your ISP. Blizzard used to act as a tech support line and ISP help desk, but that was an overreach and not sustainable since they can’t physically inspect your hardware or connection.
