The lag in some areas is truly immense, is there a fix or is this the server itself?
Things I have done.
- Eliminated all addons.
- Default settings for all things.
- New graphics drivers
- Clean install.
Most I’ve gotten is the occasional stutter, no clue man.
I’ve had times where the map or bags (If using bagnon) in retail and WotLK classic would make the game slow down for a second when you open them, but they haven’t been doing that in HC, yet.
Mostly on Era that I have problems, I do occasionally see a little stutter on HC, I meant to put this on ERA somehow put it here… Moving it now.
Specifically?
Heavily populated areas like capitals?
Instanced areas?
I’m not seeing it in either Era or HC and I’m running light on addons (like I believe four atm) plus I play on a toaster. What’s your connection like? You wired or wifi?
AV, Org, SW, the AH anywhere.
I needed to update my drivers a little while back cause I was getting serious lag.
Not computer savvy so I googled how to find out my GPU (I couldnt remember lol) and then where to find my drivers, and when I updated them, I no longer had lag issues.
Worth a try?
Ill update again, perhaps Nvidia driver is borked.
The lag I’m having is certainly not net lag, I have a sub 30 ms connection to blizz and no other games or apps lag like wow.
The lag I experience is things like players randomly speed off in glitchy ways, or AH / mail box has literal seconds of lag.
I’m on WM cluster, and starting to wonder if its server related.
If you would make a character on WM cluster (classic era) and go to Org or SW city in peak hrs and tell me if you’re experiencing AH and mail box lag, also glitchy players.
Previous to the last patch my game ran perfectly, but its not so great now.,

Sometimes players shot off, wasn’t consistent, AH worked fine, and very small mailbox lag. Something I’m not sure if its just being Australian connecting to a US server could cover.
Just odd that there’s not at least a few others remarking about this. There’s more than a few regulars that play Whitemane cluster so that was my reason for asking questions that might indicate some sort of spottiness or packet loss.

Era Stormwind lags like crazy but I’d rather it be choppy with tons of people around then in my own shard alone like in retail…

Same here. Sadly enough, it comes and goes.
It does seem something is going on, I felt this for the first time out questing in ashenvale. No real association with anything.
Just happened to me as well on the mankrik / Pagel cluster.
Yeah, something going on for sure. Tried a different PC, same result.
