I am very happy to know I’m not alone here. Here are some things I have tried with no success.
-Reinstalling windows. after formatting drives.
-returning my router to COX store for a new one.
-flushing DNS
-Factory reset on router.
-with addons and of course with out.
-running on a separate computer but on the same network.
-changing Ethernet cables. trying wifi instead of eth.
-reinstalling network drivers, trying older and newer drivers.
-Changing Network settings in Game (Advanced Network, IPV6 on and off)
There are other things I am forgetting right now I am sure.
I will note a cpl things. None of the components on my PC go over 90C but its still very hot. I cant measure the temps of the router but it has its own separate fan and isn’t overly hot to the touch. I returned the last one because the internal fan wasn’t working. I have COX 1Gig speed internet. Everything else on my PC works fine except for Diablo 4 and WOW. Sometimes I am able to go full dungeon runs with out issue. sometimes I lag just gathering Herbs and ore. sometimes I get the full DC and error #51900328 and sometimes I have to shut down the game thru task manager. Sometimes the game returns after a few seconds sometimes not. Sometimes I can log back in other times not. I have tried to run Wireshark but I have minimal understanding of what I am looking at. I do see a lot of drops to the WOW server IP address as a result of TTL going over its amount. Id love to get a fix. I don’t want to stop playing but this is so unpredictable I have had to stop running as a healer or tank. I guess I am just happy to not be alone here. I am trying very hard to figure out where the issue is. is it my ISP is it blizz? is it my PC? is it the temps?
What you are currently experiencing was not related to the thread you posted in so I moved you to your own thread.
Without seeing any sort of connection data, hardware monitoring data or any system information it can be tough to narrow things down.
Anything above around 80-85c (depending on particular hardware) is typically in throttle range. When you say you don’t go above 90 are you getting to 90? if so that is well within throttle range meaning your system is likely downclocking to prevent temps from going even higher. That would introduce significant instability with the game and could cause most of the symptoms you describe.
Given the troubleshooting you have already done, I would recommend submitting a ticket with the following system files:
It is important to play the game with the HwMonitor running. When you encounter the issue, take screenshots of the CPU and GPU sections in the monitor and save those for your reply.
Ping Plotter: https://support.blizzard.com/article/000339127 (Test should be about 10 minutes long, and run while replicating the issue.) You may need to stop and restart the test a few times if the issue isn’t easily replicated. We want to see what the connection is doing while you are actively experiencing issues.
To submit a ticket you can click on your name at the top right of this page, click support, then click contact support.
So since last the couple week maybe sooner but noticed last couple. When I move my character from Valdraken to The Plains due west roughly flying with my dragon or my evoker the game freaks out and I can’t dismiss my mount or my toon jump super high. Nothing work so I click exit game and wait. Also from Zaralek caverns to the closest entrance near Valdraken it doesn’t load the surface. So once it finally exits then I reload in which takes forever it is fine. Seen this multiple times across a few toons. Easy to reproduce with addons or no addons. Have repaired game files, reinstalled, etc…
you are correct that it is high. I am only referring to extreme peaks here and typically thats about the time I say its too Hot in my area and shut down entirely. My Pc is water cooled and I am using Asus ROG APEX XI mother board with an i9 9900K all settings allow it to peak over 110 for short bursts and I have never seen degradation. Also I only use those settings for Extreme Testing scenarios. typically my gaming average is no more than 70. I am happy to get some screen shots and jump thru what ever hoops you feel may help narrow this issue down. Sometimes I get up super early to play when temps in my area are far more reasonable. 70ish F. I still get the exact same issues. i will compile all the requested info and open a ticket I am VERY happy to see a blue post reply. TY <3
Edit: So I did do as you said, I have done all the testing and then some. including windowsMTR. While I hopefully still have your attention I will link the screenshots and links to PingPlotter. i have come to the conclusion that this is the result of packetloss at my ISP. its not my PC, its not Blizz/WOW/Battle.net/etc…I hope they can fix this. I pay a rather absurd ammount (IMO) for this internet and it didnt happen until I upgraded to gigabit from 300 mbps down and 10 mbps up. share’DOT’pingplotter’DOT’com’FORWARDSLASH’aMW8vtErk6Z There was no DC error After 5 mins I had to close the game thru Task Manager. I also have the other info you suggested to send in a support ticket which i have also done. WinMTR shows very similar info. Like I said tho I am getting the picture that this failure is more on COX than anything else. Would you agree?
