Lack of Uldaman Portal

Keeping it short and sweet, I don’t understand the point of not placing a portal in Valdrakken that brings you to the Uldaman dungeon gate. Yes, get the 20 done and get the portal, which I will get, but this flight is egregious.

Wait really? Lol

My whole group took the Uldum portal, lmao. Then we realized, errrrr hang on…

There is a Badlands portal in Valdrakken, located in the little building where one turns in the repeatable Titan Artifacts for Valdrakken rep.

If you talk to the keystone NPC, and ask where you can find Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr, she will put an indicator on your minimap/map.

I don’t entirely know why they chose to put this one away from the others, but … it’s there.

What the hell lol

Although funny enough I actually just realised they took out the Dalaran portal even though it’d be relevant for Neltharion’s Lair?

Last patch it served 2 dungeons, so they could do 3 portals for 4 dungeons. This patch all 4 are in unique zones, but they just took out Dalaran for no real reason. It won’t affect anyone who already has a Dalaran hearthstone, but it makes absolutely no sense. Even more so since they took out portals to Dalaran, and made the portal room take people to Azsuna instead, which is all the way on the other side of the continent.

I think their logic for Uldaman’s portal being in a separate area is that it’s not a “rescaled” dungeon, but a portal in Dragonflight content. Of course, that just makes it more confusing, since dungeon pools change season to season.

A lot of half baked stuff this patch.

Yep, we found this out last night and were wondering the same. Like… why!?

I haven’t gotten there yet, I’m not sure why they’d remove it, but the Dalaran hearthstone is fairly easy to get I guess.

Just gotta spread the word!

Roflmao there is one it’s just not in the three portals. There is an npc you can talk to that will teleport you to the summon stone. I suggest looking for it on wow head because Its difficult for me to link pictures here. But there is a teleport from Valdraken to Uld. It’s just not where you’d think it is.

There’s a portal in valdraken where you turn in the titan relics

It’s a VERY short flight from IF, seriously you wood have been fun to be around in vanilla. Where you had to RUN everywhere until level 40, then you got your first riding mount. No flying.

How do you get to IF these days? Like, that would have been my fallback but I can’t find a portal to IF anywhere haha.

Oh, is there still one in Boralus?

There is one. In the same place you turn in relics for rep there is a badlands portal, it was there last week too before the season went live.

Or just fly from stormwind.

They just need a mythic chamber where the portals just take you to the front of each dungeon and just have a warden there being like. “Oh we do this to make travel convienent for you!”

Boomer response spotted.

While we’re at it let’s also have meeting stones that do nothing, and rotations of only one spell, and the awful spirit stat.

Yeah I played in og vanilla and it sucked. We’re not in that era anymore and insulting the OP because you’re stuck in the past helps no one.

Since nobody has pointed it out yet

This is where the portal is, if anyone needs to find it in the future. It’s in literally just left of the obsidian enclave in valdrakken, there’s a portal to the badlands here.

Tbh with how many portals exist and numerous city specific hearthstones and travel rings and such I don’t think any portals have been necessary.

We can already get anywhere in the entire game in like 5 min or less.

So 2 things there. One is that the various portals and what not are in weird states and places, with little consistency in many areas. Even with just this dungeon rotation, travelling to Uldaman as Horde without the portal is a very different proposition compared to travelling to Uldaman as Alliance. Portals kinda make sure that players at least have a more consistent experience, regardless of the RNG of dungeon pools and zones. It doesn’t help that Blizzard has REMOVED a lot of travel options that did exist back when previous expansions were relevant.

The second consideration is that we as experienced/veteran players have a lot of things we can use. Aside from Dalaran and Garrison hearthstones, engineering, knowing that we can get up Ogre Networks, blah blah, we also have prior expansion Challenge mode portals and stuff like that. A new or returning player, however, does not have these. Blizzard kinda wants to make sure their experience getting into Dragonflight, and getting into Dragonflight content, is as smooth as possible, rather than relying on or asking them to run around in various forms of legacy content to unlock assorted toys and rings. For obvious reasons.

There is a portal, it’s just not in the same spot as the other 3, it’s in the NW part of Valdrakken inside one of the buildings.

Or even close by, but either way, a separate chamber where all the portals are centrally located for M+ is a wonderful idea
