I’ve noticed that almost every game I have to call a target right before the match starts otherwise no one says a word
Not a huge issue I just wonder how often this happens to other people?

I once called the target as a HPal and they told me to shut up.
They didn’t get healed
Feels like bots mostly. Everyone sits afk and mounts up 1 second before the gate opens. Then it is a zug fest. Then people complain about x and y. Like no wonder.
It’s pretty common the lower the rating you go.
In under 1000 games you’ll confuse them with speaking. Kill the wha? zug zug?
Under 1300 and occasionally you’ll get someone calling a target, they’re the ones that gain 180 points on their way to wherever their skill lands them.
1300-1500 wow do people really start to go at it, like wow… target and name calling in one go.
If you speak in chat they can report you and get you silence banned.
Who are they? Did they kill Kennie?
Yeah boosting is more common, they stand out like sore thumbs up higher to the skilled players.
OH yes, you see a lot of misleading on purpose lol.
I would not attribute to malice when just stupidity suffices.
Generally players want to target the class/spec/player they believe has the least health or most likely to die due to what they’ve been told.
So Death Knights, which are not that hard to kill get a free pass in round 1. Hunters which are believed to be an ‘easy’ kill are not. It’s not until you just stop trying to chase the hunter and slap the face off the DK that in round 2 people say that class/spec.
the game changes, calling a target is bad most of the time, people think when u call a target to train it all game… instead of swapping on bad positioning/defensive cds
same here but i don’t mind it
So you throw games and proceed to cry about the mmr system being inadequate for you?
Interesting.
I usually call a target and most times other players chime in on targets as well.
That being said, kill targets are often situational. So a target called may not end up being the best kill target due to the usage of major defensive abilities or positioning.
Depends. I always call targets, and if I’m on an alt, I watch in horror as we lost because they decided to go all in on the Resto Druid instead of the lock in blues.
Days and mindset changes, keep up.
I either get the typical mongos who say “gO hEaLeR” or ones who are mute and saying nothing and are just constantly all over the place lmao.
That’s one thing I was noticing too, some people say “go ret” and mean they’re gonna be on the ret no matter what. Others think that you’ll magic know automatically when to switch to the ret, when they’ll pop CC to chain with…
Which leads to the often asked duo of, “why were’n’t you on X, why did you tunnel X?”
Some specs don’t need to target call, you just kill whatever.
Everytime I’ve ever called something. They will stick to that like glue with no consideration to anything
This is a very good point. Especially in low mmr shuffles. A target gets called, but maybe that target positions itself correctly and something else does something very stupid, partner dps does not respond to the misplay and tunnels whatever target was called and never swaps. Shuffle is a lot more about awareness than coordination and sometimes trying too hard to coordinate before the match starts can hold you back.
If you are going to call or communicate something pre-match, focus more on positioning and maybe something specific that you have the ability to pull off, like hey use grippy hands off of my spear of bastion. Especially when playing low mmr games, communicating your movement and positioning intentions with your healer beforehand can really make a lot of difference. If you are two melee, suggesting that healer mount up with you and run to a forward pillar can prevent the scenario where the healer waddles to the same back position leaving you waiting in the middle for either the other team to engage (in their best spot) then raging that you spent the whole match out of their line/ranged. If you are two ranged, reminding the other ranged and healer to play in the open and not to drag stuff out of the team’s collective line triangle is a lot more valuable than trying to decide early on which target might die first.
You know what they can add to the mode? A call out button. Simple fix.
But I doubt they will make it that simple lol
