I’ve barely been able to log into the game lately so I finally did the Labyrinth this weekend. IMO it’s better than delves. It’s about the same time to complete a delve, especially multiple with travel times, so I feel like I’m getting more bang for my buck. I also like that it’s a larger true dungeon format.
Pros:
- More loot, love having tons of treasure and rooms with bonuses
- Bigger and feels more epic (delves just suck)
- More bosses to kill
- Has an end boss nemesis which was fun
- Was pretty easy and satisfying to steamroll this place, almost felt like running a Torghast with the mask powers and glove enchants
- Can be speed ran or meticulously ran for all the loot and mob counts
- Didn’t feel like there was too many pointless mobs buffs/abilities that prevented me from mass pulling. I basically just pulled entire sections and LOS’d to gather before nuking. Made the run incredibly fast and fun
Cons:
- Treasure reveal item feels pretty useless here, keeps disabling
- Having to unlock areas each run sucks, but I guess that’s the format
- Slow unlocks of hidden rooms is stupid, rather have harder to find rooms hidden behind bushes, in water, etc rather than easy obvious spots and rep gated rooms… I want to actually explore not just have obvious linear progression
- Needs rares to spawn that grant phat XP and bonuses + cool buffs
- Add in some brain games like puzzles to traverse areas, it’s a big delve so it needs more than just faceroll mobs
Overall I like this way more than delves. If Labyrinths were made tougher and group focused instead of solo focused, with more traps and puzzles and things to explore, I think it’d be really good content. But I think the format has to be solo because there’s simply not enough high end players who enjoy the crawler treasure hunt format like I do.
