This fight has way too many situationals that can instantly end your attempt (sometimes she will spawn clones on top of one another during massacre making it impossible to see and in turn you dont always notice and can die from going to the next clone you managed to see spawn. Secondly when she reverts to her knives sometimes her clones spawn right beside eachother and create a wave of knives so tight that there are no safe zones. This makes it impossible to dodge instantly ending your run. Finally her Invoke the shadows is incredible hard to follow for anyone with less than perfect eye sight, making it a small chance of success… especially when brann spawns the titan matrix over top.
Considering this fight is basically all one shot mechanics with way too much rng, every attempt ends in some unfair death that demotivates most people. something needs to be done about the tuning of this mode. (I have beaten every Challenge up until this point on my main, including the mage towers and the previous 2 delve bosses… this fight by far is the most rediculously unfair fight with 0 room for error and every chance to get screwed over by the npcs coding.
Just to clarify, did you mean to have two “??” in your title instead of just one? I remember trying it once before and the forum auto corrected the two question marks to one.
Let’s not make up numbers. I know a bunch of people who are having fun with this challenge. You may know the opposite. That’s anecdotal, though, and not fact.
The clones spawning on top of each other is frustrating, I agree. They need to fix that.
But everything else is fine, imo. It’s just a dance that needs practice. Some people it’ll take 20 attempts. Others will take 200.
This challenge isn’t like others. It’s all pure mechanics, as she hits like a wet noodle.
You can tell when a clone spawns behind or on top by the timing and not seeing one spawn. They spawn at regular intervals so when you can’t see one spawning that should be spawning then you know it’s behind or on top of the previous one…and then that’s one less time you have to turn the camera…and for a caster this is good because it gives you time to get a cast off.
As for the knives…I’ve never seen her spawn knives such that there were no safe zones. Sometimes it forces you to walk over what looks like an unsafe zone, but like the dark massacres, you keep track of the order of the knives so you know which blue lines you can walk over.
As for the scrambled mechanic…It’s not really a test of eyesight…my eyesight is garbage and I didn’t have any trouble with it. It’s more a test of processing speed and attention…maybe tracking or something. I’m sure there are lots of youtube videos of the fight, I suggest watching them and practicing that phase through youtube videos. If you still struggle then slow it down to 0.75x until you can do it at normal speed. I would also suggest keybinding “hide UI” for this part if you struggle (I also found hiding UI helpful for dark massacres). Some people suggest to stare at center and track it with your peripheral vision but I didn’t find that any easier or harder than staring directly at the correct clone. Maybe you could try manually tracking the correct one with your finger or mouse?
The only annoying RNG element of the fight was when she would kill Brann and she would spawn 2 circles right on top of each other during the vacuum mechanic…effectively insta killing me with no possible counter play. That happened a lot to me cause my Brann sucks. Maybe they fixed it though.
Three steps of getting this done within ~90 pulls.

Get good.
It’s that simple. It’s the same cadence all the way throughout ?? difficulty and is actually quite fun once you learn it, albeit it can be frustrating at times if you’re slow to adjust/react to the next shadow spawn. But lock in and win. Did it week 1 in S2 gear as Colossus Arms. Tank specs have a little more cheese though by using DPS brann where they’ll have more dmg than dps would with healer brann. S3 gear would also make it a joke turning it from a longer 9m encounter to a much shorter time frame.
what level’s your brann? I hadn’t done any delves this season when I fought her…but I don’t know what level mine was…actually…I don’t even know if it’s the same level as last season or if it resets or what.
Frankly, there is a minimum Brann level. Idk what it is, but you shouldn’t be rolling up with a level 30 Brann and thinking you can do it without “bad RNG.”
He’s just underleveled. Go pump a few 11s to get him in a better state and go back in if he’s dying.
I’d say that for once, mechanics are fine albeit there’s some RNG in all of them but not as problematics as Zekvir and Underpine.
The first problem is the color tone : What idiot though that’s a good idea to make everything so dark to the point that the players are forced to mess with the graphic settings to be able to see the mechanics clearly?
This fight is de facto excluding people with poor eyesight.
The second one is the tuning for ?? when compared to ? :
The “hitbox” for the Shadow spawn is too tight and it’s hard to track them all.
In general, i find the reaction time far too short.
In my case, having concentration problems and poor eyesight, to reduce the number of phases i’m trying to gear my priest to full hero via MM+ and when i have the time, my Death knight through delves.
I have beaten Zekvir ?? and Underpine ?? so you can’t say that i’m the lazy type not trying.
But some tuning are necessaries, at least to make the room brighter so we don’t need to modify the graphics.
I completed this on ?? Difficulty and a tip I can give is turn brightness and gamma up a bit to make the room more visible.
Also, you only need to watch for the first 3 shadow charge dudes initially. The other 3 spawn once the charges are happening so just focus on the first 3 and once you get comfortable with practice it won’t feel so hard.
The fight didn’t feel buggy to me but it was pretty darn challenging
