Is anyone having difficulties with this ability?
I ask cuz I find that using this ability is something of a roll of a dice. This week, for example, I have been getting a lot of explosives, and this seems to be part of the problem. The minute I hit boon I cannot get explosives anymore and bam one or two go off. Also, I hit radiance before hitting that button but then see that someone dies somehow when I hit it because I take my eyes off health bars for ten seconds. I mean I find the tank is often moving the mobs around when hit boon as well, so I get focused on just trying to target for blast.
I dunno why it doesn’t work out well sometimes, and even put up a barrier after radiance and before hitting that button, but then, bam it ends badly again.
Is anyone else having trouble with this ability in pugs, like in 17s or so?
It makes me just wish I had not switched out of Venthyr to be honest. Mind Games is just so easy to implement.

Rapture 5 people > Boon > blast(at the orb) > 2x Nova > blast(at the orb), repeat.
This isn’t really your fault. There are times when I can handle all explosives and there are times where I need other people to get it together. Usually we are fine though, I typically run with the same 5-8 people.
Again, kinda depends on the key, the pull, and the group. This week in particular has proven especially difficult for my group if we don’t have a lot of heavy aoe for huge pulls or we don’t have a lot of soothes. In a 20 Spires earlier I was hit 100 to 0 by a dark lash, but all of the kicks were going to the goliath and burden of knowledge. Ragings fortified just leads to one shots, it could even be your tank.
I’m only necro because right now my guild needs me playing shadow for raid, I wish I were Kyrian though.
Well you only need to hit radiance if people need healing. If your using the 1 min boon, you are often using it for dps. If everyone is fine just pws the tank, fit in dispels as you can. I save m swd for explosives as much as possible
why can’t you ascended blast an explosive?

Explosives die with one PtW/SW:P cast. Should be a non issue.

Just do ascended blast and use the next global for purge the wicked on the orb. Blast on mob, purge on orb, blast on mob, purge on orb, repeat.
Of course you are using your globals killing orbs rather than weaving ascended novas. But that’s far better than an orb exploding.
You don’t want to waste your blast and nova, man. You want to PUMP dps.
It seems to be better later this set of affixes. It seems most people have been better at getting explosive vs the first day or two.
I guess after a few bricked keys people start getting the explosives vs leaving them for someone else to get.
If the choice comes down to it, losing a nova to global an orb that is about to explode is better than one orb exploding. You want to pump dps, but you want your group to stay alive more. And orbs exploding are the bigger health threat, by far.
Missing a nova or two is really not a huge loss. Not when you are weaving mega throughput ascended blasts in between and hitting your other novas in the rotation. If a DPS can get the orb when you are using Boon, let them do it. But if they can’t, it’s hard to see value in letting orbs explode and potentially kill a party member because of one or two filler spells.
compared to an explosive wiping the group? welcome to explosive where every gcd spent killing them is a waste but you have to do it. found some real 600 io heroes here
No, compared to using a different spell (Purge the Wicked, for example) on orbs instead of Blast…
I use swd mouseover on most of the explosives as i can then ptw
You sure complain a lot about disc. Why not try a different spec?

Oh, and I have played all healers and have healed since vanilla. Just saying.
