Wanting to know why they never made the kul tiran a plaadin im new to wow and it just dosnt make sense to me?
And spoiler alert
The Tyr questline had a kultiran pally in the quest chain. Hint at the next class going to all races next?
I’m pretty sure kt had paladins in warcraft 3 tbh. In fact I think jainas father used the Paladin model.
Then again, for a while there we weren’t getting kt mages despite jaina being from there so idk what they were thinking
Also pretty sure that Kul Tiran in WC3 weren’t 12 foot tall ogre babies
Model size isn’t indicative tho. There’s some wonky models in that game
Lol, with how they are generalizing Druid forms it could be Druids for all will be next over Paladins not that I’d be against it being Paladins, I don’t play either class so I have no horse in that race anyway.
Lol fair but hey I would make a gnome pally or an undead pally just for lols
Or a vulpera pally
This is going to be such a cute combo, I will absolutely love them like Pandaren Death Knights legit some class/race combos just make me really happy and that will be one of them honestly.
Im going to have some choices to make when that day comes
Think of it more like Paladins being rare; not all races that worship the light have to have paladins. It has a big cultural component related to the Church of Light and how important it was in the kingdoms of Stormwind and Lordaeron.
Dwarves caugth on the devotion, but Gnomes havent. Gilneans and Kul Tirans were to insular for it to permeate.
Yet with all things of this nature, is a matter of time; Only by BfA Kul Tiras really rejoined the Alliance, and now we have seen Kul Tiran Paladins showing up in DF.
TL;DR: Not all the races/cultures/nations that have a level of worship for the Holy Light have paladins as a culturally significant part of their society. While Kul Tirans do believe on the light, it seems that worship of the Tidemother is actually more prevalent.
When us furries take over the light, there’s no turning back.
Your hammers are anchors!
Yes, Kul Tiras had Paladins in Wacraft III. They also had them in Warcraft II. Them not having Paladins in WoW was more of a retcon than anything.
well going by the lore paladins are just melee priests, alonsus faol realized how squishy priests were during the first war and so brought in uther and the other most pious knights of lordaeron to teach them how to use light magic. so basically a ret paladin is a holy rolling arms warrior and prot is a holy rolling prot warrior. so it doesn’t really make sense when you have people who can train to become mighty warriors or learn to wield the light but can’t combine the two
Thanks Airc, you’re always reliable
Loving the discussions on this topic
People are stuck in the 80s/90s D&D mindset where only humans, dwarves and elves should be paladins.
It’s ridiculous.
Having said that… I’m not sure how Blizzard is going to work out Forsaken and Velf Paladins. People can squawk about Faol all day but there are zero undead paladins in the game that were not raised by necromancers, which took away their free will.
Three possibilities.
- Kul’tiran Paladins weren’t explored in Kul’tiras (Order of Embers and Stormsong do ignore the subject)
- Kul’tiran Paladins joined the crusade against the Scrouge during Lordaeron’s fall
- Allied races have a limited number of classes (Zandalari were missing Warlock, Kul’tiran will miss Paladin)
I hope add Kul’tiran Paladins soon. I really want to be Reinhardt and Escanor.
Exactly; as I said, the issue isn’t that being a Paladin is “hard”, but that it requires an specific context to fully blossom into the cultural mainstream of a society. Druid, Shaman, Paladin; these are all roles that are highly culturally specific and are the reason why they are limited to fewer races.
But we are seeing how that has been changing, so I do hope we see playable KT paladins soon.
