Yeah, and it’s a horrible reason. Female Pandaren, Vulpera, Worgen exist but the female human-looking Ogre is too difficult lol
LOL @ buff.
They aren’t buff they are fluffy from too much cake. This does not compute with lore.
“We want races that look very distinct like the Horde has”
“No not like that”
Of course not like that. Kul Tirans are damn ugly. Alliance could have gotten a race that is both pretty and distinct like draenei.
Anything using KT rig will never reach more than 0,5% of the active player population. You can quote me on that. Know what humans do when they look like a Kul tiran? A diet.
Ogres are a fantastic example, a real text book case of “You think you want this, but you don´t”
I do like the Kul Tirans and have one of my own, but I do agree that Blizzard sees out of touch with player demands and in a vacuum when it comes to their decisions.
Alliance players clearly wanted High Elves. Many would of been way happier if they were just given that. The work required on Blizz’s end would of been minimal - Just a few extra options on the Blood Elf spectrum.
Yet if horde got vulpera and alliance got high elves, they´d still cry that blizzard gave them a low effort AR compared to horde. Alliance are just a bunch of entitled crybabies

What?? LOL???
But of course kultirans and junkgnomes would be the least popular models for the alliance!
Jesus! This is obvious! Even blizz knew it, but Devs went on with Kultirans and diapergnomes because needed something for Ally’s slot!
It didn’t matter if Ally would be pleased with a protruding belly button human and a blue whale gnome! If it were important, they would not have preferred better options for a model that would only please a minority!
Blizzard has chosen to please an alliance minority than most!
There is no reason for you or anyone to be sad about it!
Blizzard chose to please most players, who were happy with the vulperas, to a minority of edgy weeping lords!
Unfortunately, blizz chose the least popular for ally!
Kultirans and junkgnomes are like the 1985 New Coke and the fearsome ** Coca-Cola BlāK **!
A The Coca-Cola Company thought these products would please the public!
The public did not like, ignored and the company discontinued the product that was a failure of sales and acceptance!
Most vexatious yet, for new coke, who was rejected and the target of public protests for its taste!
It was so bad, that it launched PEPSI, its competitor, the market leader as Coke was the rejection!
I anticipate a lot of people coming out of the alliance to rival Horda and his vulperas!
Blizzard is fortunate to not have to bear any harm, as Coca-Cola had to have a bad idea!
Ally? Well, more ostracism!
Surprise! Blizzard chose the wrong one again, for alliance!
Do you think Blizzard is concerned that many show a lack of interest in these popularity failures?
Not! she needed something to give ally and chose to plug the hole this way!
Do you think I’m sad about her doing something that many already signaled as unpopular?
Not! I’m clapping!
Do they give vulperas to the horde, but don’t think of giving something as remarkable as for the alliance? Junkgnomes? useless act!
And is anyone surprised by the huge dismissal that kultirans and junkgnomes cause to the alliance? Girl, Please!
Blizz herself knew it would be hard to sell this idea!
So kultirans has a lore made to justify them being shamans and druids, to encourage people!
The lore that said humans can’t be druids and shamen? Just rip to lore the Kultirans dead weight!
And let’s take the chance to create overkill racials for junkgnomes, for the same reason!
I wish they were horde! I’d play em for sure, dem some sweet racials for tanking.
I am honestly hoping we get to change factions in 9.0, cuz I’d be all over shadowmeld in M+ … well ok that’s probably too OP and I’d do nothing else, ah well.
You know: for how boring leveling is, for how grindy TWO rep requirements are, how grindy Admiralty is, and how burnout the end-game is…Im surprised KTs have as high of a number as they do now.
And its not about models.
Yeah cuz we never see a hordie whine about something.
cough Bee mount cough
I would love to play a Kul Tiran Shaman and a Maghar Hunter but Blizzard won’t let me so I just play this old orc.
It can’t even be blamed on Arthas personally, you could say something about the lengths he went to sure but the true evils that he’s often spoken about having comitted all came after he took up the cursed sword and lost his humanity
At least they can use the rigging for a potential half-ogre race a la Rexxar.
Oh they’ll get mileage out of this mostly wasted-at-present animation frame, least if all in new mobs.
Oh I think you’ll find those models have MUCH to do with it.
People on the whole do not want to play fat humans. I’ve been playing games for enough decades to know well people in general want to play pretty or appropriately savage or aesthetically ‘prime’ in some way or another. Being overweight is most certainly not part of that for almost everyone.
… and no pandaren are not comparable, because they are supposed to be based on bears who are naturally quite chunky in build. Kul Tirans is basically an obesity slider for normal humans.
Yes, obviously there is always the fringe taste, but fringe it is-- and putting all this work into what supposed to be the main new race for BfA is very poor thinking at best. It’s just obvious that headline features should be made to appeal to a wide consumer base.
I actually like the KT race. Have several new characters of that race. I also have at least 1 of almost every other race too.
Pandering solely to the lowest common denominator for maximum appeal is the coward’s way and leads to a super boring world. May as well just make every single race into blood elves.
No, it had dark iron and zandalari as their flagship races. That said, I’d love to roll a Kul’tiran. I just don’t want to do everything on my alliance toon then to grind for three weeks just to play what I want.
People already leveled all the toons they want and/or arent paying for a race change. Why are you surprised?
No, other larger races see play in other games.
People apparently dont want to play as any of the allied races, since none of them have high play rates overall.
So are people who want ogres wrong? I mean they basically want a fat, stupid looking race yet…are interedted in playing it?
