Before you call me an elitist try hard hear me out. The title is called keystone master. Keystone explorer…conqueror…these words are open to interpretation while master has a pretty clear meaning. I don’t care if the gear and mount requirement stays the same, but it just feels wrong handing out a master title for such an easy accomplishment.
Until the majority of people are able to be at max power level, every week that goes by your current rating has less and less value. Tomorrow when we are able to equip double legendaries, KSM will carry less weight and prestige than it did today. Once you add tier sets and several max pieces of vault gear to the mix, timing all 15s will be the equivalent of what? Last season’s 12? 11? Perhaps even lower?
In only a few weeks only the most unskilled among us will not be able achieve the title of master. I’m tempted to say that it will actually be achievable by everyone since it will become so easy with 2x legendaries, tiers, 270+ ilvl that through brute force one could easily get carried there by even average players.
Is this a big deal? No, not at all, but it’s nice for people to say “I got KSM” and it actually means something. What might happen is that achieving KSM is so easy that even listing it as an accomplishment might actually have the opposite intended effect. Imagine if someone were trying to convince you on these forums that they were good at mythic+ and they said, “I achieved keystone conqueror in season 2, so…”. What would you think about a statement like that? I predict that is exactly what will happen to KSM.
Like I said, it’s not a big deal, it’s just something I thought about with double legendaries right around the corner. Also, I fully support my comments in an all-pug environment as well. I only pug so I’m well aware of the pugging experience. I know people love to look up info on people so they have ammunition against them so I’ll save you some time. My current main is named “kago” and I have spent about equal time pugging dpsing and healing though I have mostly healed lately. Honestly though, what I have or haven’t achieved is actually completely irrelevant to my argument. Either my arguments are good or they aren’t irrespective of my credentials.
Well that’s one of my points, that it will be much easier this season. Let me ask you, what percentage of people do you think it’s fitting to call them a master of mythic+?
KSM is not intended to be something insanely difficult that only the top % of players can achieve-it’s something that can be worked toward during a season, at a player’s own pace.
Don’t stress about someone deciding to inspect you, then investigating the exact lockout week that double legendaries were implemented, and deciding on their throne that you are not “prestigious” about something that is widely considered to be something NOT to brag about.
I actually see a lot of people say they got KSM in a way that really doesn’t seem like bragging. So many people on these forums think you can’t talk about something unless you have achieved X so many people just pre-empt that accusation with saying, “I got KSM, blah blah blah”.
